via Josh Fox: "...Please take a moment to watch the trailer for my upcoming short film "CJ's LAW", a short film I am making on worker safety issues in the gas fields. I have been working with the incredible and courageous Bevins family, who lost their 23 year old son (and brother) on a gas rig cited for numerous safety violations in New York State in 2011. The film will tell the story of Charlotte and Nancy Bevins and their family as they bravely fight for justice in CJ's name. Senator Tony Avella of NY has taken up their cause, drafting a worker safety bill for New York that will serve as a template for workers in the oil and gas fields across the US. Gas workers are not the enemy, they are people working a tough job to put food on their tables. And they are seven times more likely to die on the job than the US average. Negligence on sites and unsafe working conditions including risk of chemical exposure cannot be acceptable by our governments that are touting a jobs boom in the gas fields any longer. This is a tough one, a very personal and difficult film and I hope you take the time to learn about the struggles of gas workers and help the campaign for their safety. More to follow. Thanks.
