There are 32 men and women competing in singles only.  The top 5 men's
seeds are Wang Chuqin (1st int'l appearance this year), Lin Shidong,
Harimoto Tomokazu, Xiang Peng, and Jang Woojin and the top 5 women's
seeds are all Chinese--Sun Yingsha (1st int'l appearance this year),
Wang Manyu, Chen Xingtong, Kuai Man, and Wang Yidi, followed by Harimoto
Miwa at no. 6.  It's a safe bet that someone from China is going to win
this one again...

Pips-out players...  They're all on the women's side this time around:
Hashimoto Honoka (chopper), Manika Batra (long pips--playing better
lately), Zauresh Akasheva of Kazakhstan (short pips/bh), Tan Zhao Yun of
Singapore (chopper) and Mariana Sahakian of Lebanon (medium pips/bh?).

There are 2 more continental cups happening this week, namely the Euro
Top-16 starting on Thursday in Switzerland and the Africa Cup starting
this Saturday in Benghazi, Libya--of all places.  More to follow...
