Greetings!
This month's Force and Flow Sound Bath will be a therapeutic sound walk in Prospect Park (weather permitting)
on Friday, September 30th.
We will gather at 9th street and Prospect Park West at 5:30pm and begin walking at 5:45 until about 7:30pm.
Each walker will take turns having the opportunity to walk "blind" using lightweight blindfolds with the aid of walking guides. We have 10 openings for the walk. If it rains we will meet at Force and Flow for an open sing with Indian sruti box drone. The open sing can accommodate 15. Please RSVP for the open sing as well if it rains!
Here's a little info on what to expect:
Sound walks are a mindful approach to perceiving the world of sound. We walk with ears open - aware of the three dimensionality of our sonic landscape. The slow walking technique facilitates the relaxed intake of sensory information, enabling the walker to
rekindle their relationship to the world's sound-scape. We listen with our whole bodies, using touch, smell, and taste to enhance our listening experience. The walk will take approximately 1 hour and a half. We walk in silence, communicating verbally only if necessary. Following the walk, we will have a brief talk to process the experience together.
