Hi everyone,
As Deniz requested, I'm pasting below the comment that NYSTF submitted for the Leadership Forum this Wednesday. Will any of you be in attendance? I'm not even sure who is included in the google group - could someone refresh my memory on that?   :)
If any of you will be there, please let me know so that we can look for you and put a face to a name and an email address! thanks!
regards, Donna

Comment submitted on behalf of NYS music therapists by
The New York State Task Force on Occupational Regulation
Mid-Atlantic Region/American Music Therapy Association:
As one of the Licensed Creative Arts Therapies, music therapists in New York are greatly concerned about the lack of recognition of each distinct LCAT discipline (art, dance, music, drama, psychodrama, poetry) and the associated challenges related to scope of practice and exemption issues.

Thanks, Donna,

Maybe we can all introduce ourselves again?  I manage the Google group and can easily add/remove anyone as needed.  I am a drama therapist and psychoanalyst.  I work with the NYS drama therapy task force and am especially interested in scope of practice concerns, especially as they pertain to both my licenses.  I can’t attend the Wednesday meeting but appreciate the ongoing collaboration between our modalities and the sharing of information.

Michele Amendolari - working with the New York Art Therapy Association as we transition Governmental Affairs Chair from myself to Samantha Hasher (our current president).

Echo Kristin's concerns about on-going exemptions and Donna's re: recognition.
