Mojang has continued to churn out Minecraft updates at a regular pace, allowing its community to thrive for over a decade. Along with Mojang, modders are constantly launching their own updates to the game -- the most exciting of which might be shaders.
Shaders don't add new gameplay elements or new mobs to fight. Instead, they give the blocky world of Minecraft a fresh coat of paint. And for a game that's not particularly known for its next-gen graphics, these shaders do wonders to modernize the experience.
Dragging the installed file to the Shaderpacks folder in your Minecraft installation. This can be found by going to the Options section of your Optifine version of Minecraft, then clicking Video settings > Shaders > Shaders folder.
Step 5: Note that some shaders no longer require Optifine. That means you can simply download your preferred shader, load it on your PC, and have it automatically appear in your Resource Packs menu while playing Minecraft.
While plenty of other shaders attempt to make the world look more realistic, Chocapic13 achieves this through much more subtle tweaks to lighting, shadow, clouds, and fog. This mod is especially popular with other modders because of how easily customizable it is. Even if you're not a modder, the simple ability to adjust the quality to match your PC's performance is a fantastic option to make sure you never drop frames.

Between YouTube, Twitch, Discord, and social media, gamers are sharing their clips and videos more than ever. No matter what console you're on, there's an easy way to create a video of your gameplay to share with the world. For once, PC gamers were somewhat behind the times in this regard. If you were playing a Steam game, the only way to reliably record and edit any footage was to use a third-party software, and even those lagged behind in some features most would hope to have.
If you think about it, mixing potions isn't all that different from mixing materials to make items in Minecraft. That is just conceptually speaking because the act of brewing potions is not nearly as simple or straightforward as just organizing a couple of sticks and stones in a grid. Potions require a bit more nuance and preparation to make, but the effects they can have are quite literally game-changing.
There's a lot you need to do to get started mixing up your own potions, and once you have the tools required, there's no instruction manual on how to make the dozens of possible potions, let alone the best ones. If you want to allow yourself to walk through lava and see in the dark without the use of mods, check out this full potions guide.

Hope you can help. I do not use the DIM tool for any of my purchases and install all items manually in to Directories. That way I know where everything is. However, I don't seem to have any Shaders showing anywhere? When I go to Surfaces - Presets, there is nothing there, no Uber or any other Shaders? So, is it as simple as creating a Folder in my Directory, and maybe call it "Shaders" and then put all my down loaded shaders in it, will they show up in the Surface- Presets window?
Start using DIM, you can tell it where to install to so you still know where everything is and is best for true shaders and plug-ins since there are files in these that to go places other than just the content library.
The Presets tabs in property panes depend on the Content Management System - are you using the default locations for the files within the content directory, and are you importing metadata to add them to the database? If not you will need to manually categorise them and edit their metadata to tell DS they are shader presets (or pose presets or whatever) if you want to access them through that pane. Also, you will need to have at least one object and at least one surface on the object selected.
Hello there! Thank you for taking the time to reply.
As far as I know, I am not receiving any crash logs but rather after the main loading screen finishes or maybe in the middle of loading, it just minimises as if it's been in the void, ahaha.
So coincidentally I've also been spending the past few hours trying to figure out how to install shaders on crucial 2 too and I found a way but you need a pretty decently beefy computer to run it
So the deal with no sodium is actually explained on the curseforge Crucial 2 page and the reason is because he uses a different mod now called magnesium instead which is pretty much sodium but for forge? I'm not too sure.
Though the point is if you delete those 2 files along with "roadrunner" mod, Optifine should work for you. However for me, my game would crash within minutes every time I ran MC with optifine, I'm not sure if it's a me specific thing but I found a fix by installing the mods called Oculus and Rubium instead of Optifine which are pretty much just standalone forge versions of Magnesium and shaders that work together.
However they run pretty poorly, and even with a 3070 at 1440p I still barely scrape together 60fps, but if you do go this route I would also recommend the Sora shaderpack for this since it has the best performance I've seen compared to other shaderpacks and actually works well.
I also thought about using previous versions of Crucial 2 and seeing if those are more stable with Optifine but I'll see how my current set up treats me for now.
When installing shader graph into my already existing project I get this error I have tried on many different projects, switched from a older to a newer version, but nothing has worked. The errors looks like this the main one is the one selecting in blue the others just clear away(I think it has something to do with a missing import):
I am currently having the same exact issue. I have yet to find a solution either, which is really frustrating since it block you from using URP or HDRP in any project. If I figure anything out though I will be sure to post it here.
I noticed that I had a file missing in Library\PackageCache\com.unity....@12.1.8\Editor\Generation\Targets\BuiltIn\Editor\ShaderGUI\MaterialAssemblyReference\ could you send a zip of that folder please.
Minecraft has added a huge variety of blocks over the years, but the overall appearance has remained the same. If you are looking to branch out and experience different lighting and textures, then you've come to the right place. In this guide, we are going to take a look at how to install shaders.
Shaders are essentially mods that change the graphics setting of your Minecraft world. Oftentimes, shaders are used to give the world a more realistic feel, with enhanced lighting and sunlight. First, let's take a look at what you need to do prior to downloading shaders.
Updated June 15, 2024 by Jacqueline Zalace: Looking to make your Minecraft build appear even more beautiful? We've updated this guide with a few more shader options, as well as some information on potential lag caused by shaders.
To download Optifine, you can go to the website and click 'download'. When downloading, be sure to click on 'Mirror' for the most recent version of the game. Doing so will cause the file to download to your computer.
To the left of the Play button, you should see a little menu showing the version of the game that you are currently playing. Click on the arrow and select Optifine, and you're all set!
If you don't know where to start in terms of searching for a shader, we've got you covered. Below, you can find several shaders we recommend, as well as a screenshot of the game with the shader on.
From the home screen of Minecraft, head to 'Options' and then go to 'Video Setting', followed by 'Shaders'. From here, you will see a screen with several options on the right side and a list of shaders on the left side.
Click 'Shaders Folder' on the bottom left-hand corner of the screen, and then move your desired shader pack here. You can do this by pasting the shaders directly into the folder. Once you have the shaders in the folder, press 'Done'.
