Fishkill Ridge Trail 2/26/09: From start in town of Beacon. Lower
portion to stream crossing has been cleared. From there to crossing
of Reservoir Road is clear - 2 trees down have taken out portions of
the trail, but easy walkarounds exist. From there to summit of Bald
Hill (the ridge portion) - many downed limbs - most cleared, but minor
problems remain. Trail is passable, but a bit slow. From Bald Hill
to lower portion - trail is a serious mess. Huge numbers of downed
trees. Trail cannot be followed directly, but messy walkarounds
exist. Needs heavy maintenance. Lower portion to Wilkinson junction:
good condition. Several fallen trees but no real problems.
