For Sale: Hurricane OC-1
Sold AS IS only.
Hurricane OC-1. Full carbon. Only 22 pounds when assembled. White color. Has a sound repair along the hull seam.
IMPORTANT: It has a leak of unknown origin, although I suspect it's the rudder. The last time I paddled it, I went out into the Atlantic Ocean via the Atlantic City Inlet for about 2 hours in some very big waves. I kept wondering why the boat seemed heavier and slower as I went along. When I came back and attempted to lift the boat, it was filled with water and was too heavy for me to lift until I drained what seemed like a whole lot of water. I had previously lent the boat to someone who neglected to tell me that she hit a rock with the rudder until I inquired as to why my boat was leaking when it previously did not. This is why I suspect the rudder assembly is the source of the leak.
If you are interested in this boat, know that you are buying it with a leak and YOU are responsible for any and all repairs.
With that in mind, and knowing that it's a 22 pound full carbon Hurricane, make me a reasonable offer and it's yours. First offer over $500 will likely take it.
Located in the western suburbs of Philadelphia.
If I have a check in hand, I'll transport it to the ADK 90-Miler in September or anywhere immediately off an exit on I-95 when I head to Florida this winter, or anywhere along my route to northern Michigan when I head there next, if that helps with transport. I may also be headed to the Athol area in Massachusetts for a visit soon too but I don't know exactly when. In other words, I travel a lot and, if you're not in a hurry, chances are I'll be somewhere near you at some point. But note that I'm not going to guarantee that I'll deliver it.
If you want photos I'll get some, but I assure you it looks like every other white Hurricane out there.
This is a great boat, just needing a little TLC, and it has many many years of life left in it.
