Dear NYLAWG,

Hope everyone is doing well!

Sonia Das and I are co-organizing a NYLAWG meeting this spring. We invite you to join us as we discuss a work-in-progress by Sarah Muir (CUNY City College/Graduate Center), who will circulate a draft in advance.

WHEN: Thursday, April 16, 2026, 5:00pm to 6:30pm
WHERE: CUNY Graduate Center (365 5th Ave, New York, NY), Room TBA

By April 2, I will send out Sarah's paper to the list. I will also confirm room location and ask for RSVPs for dinner afterwards.

Looking forward to seeing many of you on April 16!

Best,
Angie

Dear NYLAWG,

Because Graham Jones will be giving a talk on April 16 at Fordham, we decided to move NYLAWG to April 23. Please update your calendars! We hope this new date does not pose a problem for those planning to attend. Here are the new details:

NYLAWG Workshop:
Work-in-progress by Sarah Muir (CUNY City College/Graduate Center)
Thursday, April 23, 2026, 5:00-6:30 pm (followed by dinner for those who want to join!)
CUNY Graduate Center (365 5th Ave, New York, NY), Room TBA

By April 9, we will send out Sarah's paper to the list. We will also confirm room location and ask for RSVPs for dinner afterwards.

Looking forward to seeing many of you on April 23 (and at Graham's talk the week before)!

Best,
Angie & Sonia

Dear NYLAWG,

Please find attached Sarah Muir's work-in-progress, which we will workshop in two weeks: Thursday, April 23, 5:00-6:30 pm in room 5382 at the CUNY Graduate Center (GC), 365 Fifth Ave. At the beginning of the PDF is a framing note about the piece.

To enter the GC: all CUNY attendees are required to show a valid CUNY ID, and all non-CUNY attendees are required to show a government-issued photo ID. Take the elevator to the fifth floor, where you will find our room: 5382. Please email me if you encounter any issues entering the building or locating the room.

For those interested in joining for dinner, we will walk to the nearby Tacombi (23 West 33rd St) immediately following the workshop. Please email me by this Monday, April 13 if you would like to join for dinner. I will then make a reservation for our group.

Please reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns. Looking forward to seeing many of you soon!

Best,
Angie

Hi all,

This is the final reminder about our NYLAWG workshop this Thursday featuring Sarah Muir! Details below, paper attached.

NYLAWG Workshop:
    • Work-in-progress by Sarah Muir (CUNY City College/Graduate Center)
    • Thursday, April 23, 2026, 5:00-6:30 pm
    • CUNY Graduate Center (365 5th Ave, New York, NY), Room 5382

A note about entering the GC: all CUNY attendees are required to show a valid CUNY ID, and all non-CUNY attendees are required to show a government-issued photo ID. Take the elevator to the fifth floor, where you will find our room: 5382. Please email me if you encounter any issues entering the building or locating the room.

A note to those who RSVPed for dinner: Tacombi (23 West 33rd St) cannot do individual checks, and can only split our check across a limited number of credit cards. For this reason, I encourage people to bring cash or the capability to venmo!
