Dear Devotees,

It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Buddhadeb Majumdar and Mr. Amit Sikdar. They were on a pilgrimage to “Char Dham” in India when a tragic accident claimed their lives on Wednesday this week.

Buddha da was a founding member of this temple. Right from its inception, Buddha da was a livewire of this temple; big hearted and humorous, hands-on and grounded, and always a pillar of support to the temple – financial and otherwise.

Amit da was the backbone of this temple. His unflinching, selfless dedication and commitment to the temple was unmatched in its intensity and consistency. Never to seek limelight or credit, his silent contribution to the smooth running of the temple cannot be described in words. We will miss him dearly.

Both Buddha da and Amit da were great devotees of Ma Kali and they devoted their lives in her service and the wider community. We remember them and celebrate them as great human beings whose contributions to our temple and community had an indelible impact.

Let us pray for them and their families. May their souls find eternal peace. We will have a memorial service for them at an appropriate time.

Thank you Buddha da and Amit da for everything! We will miss you.

~Regards,
