Don't get this pill I am legitimately depressed from it now after taking it for 7+ months. I feel so dissociated from myself because of it and psychologically don't feel well. If your have ever had bad anxiety or depression to begin with this pill is not for you"

"I've been taking Tri-Lo-Marzia for 3 years now. I recommend the pill, the only side effect I had was gaining about 10 pounds. I already experienced anxiety and depression but the pill did not worsen it in any way. I get my period regularly for 3-4 days."

"I was on Tri-Lo-Nessa for a year before it was discontinued. I relied heavily on it since it kept my acne under control incredibly well. I had to switch to something else and tried Tri-Lo-Marzia. It has almost the same exact effects: controls severe cramping, reduces breast tenderness, keeps me from spotting. The one thing about this medication that has broken my heart is that my skin has reacted so poorly to it. I'm breaking out like crazy on my face and chest. It's like it never ends. I want to give this medication a chance, but it's ruining my self-esteem. I miss you, Tri-Lo-Nessa."

"This pill has been my favorite birth control. It has completely cleared my hormonal acne. I have been on this pill for 2 years and counting. Although, I do get extremely tired some days it is still worth it in my opinion. Also, I do not get depression or anxiety like other pills. Give it a year, if able!"

"I was previously on Tri-Lo-Sprintec and got off of it after a few months due to it making me feel depressed, emotional and as well had a low sex drive. I was put on the pill due to cramps and previous ovarian fibroids/cysts. I now switched to Tri-Lo-Marzia, and even though they have the same ingredients, same strength I just wanted to try a different brand.I noticed when I started I was getting horrible stomach cramps. I do feel more bloated now and put on a couple pounds. But other than the on and off stomach pains the pill has worked well. No break through bleeding, sex drive is good, no pregnancy scares, period is on time, and my mood is okay. Overall not bad. Been on it for 3 months now."

"Pros: Cramps that don't make me want to die, bleeding is ok, period lasts about 5 days but no heavy, heavy days like before. Cons: My breasts swelled, but get smaller if I work out. If that bothers you, then this birth control just isn't for you in my opinion. I did gain weight, not a whole lot but enough and losing it is killer. I can get down about 5 pounds before I plateau with lots of exercise and good diet. Once I stop exercising for a week, it climbs back up but never goes over my max. So that's nice. Before my period, I'm kind of moody, but I know how to regulate myself and make myself feel better. I do feel tired often and have trouble concentrating sometimes but I can control it.The worst is my sex drive. I don't get wet hardly ever before sex, even with foreplay. Honestly, I'm not pregnant, I'm not severely overweight and I'm not suicidal. Good for me."

"My pharmacy switched me from Tri-lo sprintec to this because it was free on my insurance. I am on month 3. For me, the positives are that I've lost the weight I gained on tri-lo sprintec and I am no longer bloated all the time. However my mood, which was even and calm before, changed immediately on this pill. My mood changes in an instant and I've had several breakdowns and severe anxiety which almost never happens to me. I am also starting to experience hair thinning and inflamed pimples all over my chin and cheek area which was never an issue before, not since I took accutane. I am switching after this pack to brand name ortho tri cyclen lo with the hopes that my skin clears back up and my mood stabilizes."

"I'm 30 years old and was on ortho tri cyclen lo since I was 16, I absolutely loved it! No side affects, period was right on time, no acne, no nausea or anything. Well I got on my husband's insurance and they switched me to tri lo marzia saying it's the same just generic, yeah right, I started taking in it June or July and since then I've been in the ER twice because of panic attacks and ALL of my organs were infected and inflamed, I finally got that taken care of except for the panic attacks, I had to quit working, I don't want to see my family anymore, I can't go to the movies which I used to go every weekend since I was 4, the only good thing about this pill, yes I get my period on time no heavy bleeding and I'm not pregnant. But I have to switch I can't take these panic attacks anymore, it's not who I am at all"

"In the beginning of taking this BC it was not too bad. After a few months, I started experiencing side effects. I get cramps so bad I have to stop walking or stop any movement I'm making and just freeze until they go away. I also feel like I'm tired all of the time. Recently I have been experiencing headaches and bloating. I've also noticed that ever since I have been on this birth control I have an extremely low sex drive. I never did gain any weight but I have been battling with crazy cravings. I have always had very bad hormonal acne and after being on this birth control, I have noticed it cleared up some but not completely. I would be cautious if you are on this birth control. Give this birth control at least 3 months for your body to adjust. For me, I have given it a year and it just keeps getting worse."

"I have been on this for about five days and have experienced horrible nausea. For about 20 minutes after I swallow this pill through the rest of the day, and sometimes the next morning, I have a lump in my throat and non-stop nausea and bloating. It is absolutely horrible. I am getting off of this and going with an alternate method as soon as I can."

"Switched from ortho-tri-cyclene to Tri-lo-marzia because I mysteriously received a free renewal in the mail (w/o prescription). Weird, I know. It's been making me super tired, bloated, and depressed. I've been taking it for 5 days and I'm going to stop taking it and see my doctor asap. I don't know why I got this free, un-prescribed prescription in the mail but it sucks."

"I would NEVER recommend taking this pill. I started this pill in October and was fine for the first two months. The end of December through January (and it is now February 4) I have had the worst anxiety and depression. I was never anxious or depressed before this medication. I have never experienced anxiety aside from nervousness due to school stressors (normal). I now anticipate going to bed early every night to avoid feeling this way. I have also experienced headaches, night nausea, dizziness, fast heart rate as well. I just threw this medication into my garbage pail this morning because of how horrible it is making me feel. Everyone reacts differently to medication but Tri Lo Marzia Birth Control has made me stop taking birth control for good- I am honestly traumatized."

"Overall, I was happy with this pill, besides the headaches it was giving me. I would get a headache while taking active pills as well as during the inactive week. My acne got better, although I still get flare ups once in a while. When I started the pill, I had spotting continuously for 2-3 months, but it stopped after that. For those who just started the pill, it's important to know that spotting is common, but it will go away."

Tri-Lo-Marzia is a combination birth control pill containing female hormones that prevent ovulation (the release of an egg from an ovary). Tri-Lo-Marzia also causes changes in your cervical mucus and uterine lining, making it harder for sperm to reach the uterus and harder for a fertilized egg to attach to the uterus.

You should not use birth control pills if you have: uncontrolled high blood pressure, heart disease, coronary artery disease, circulation problems (especially with diabetes), undiagnosed vaginal bleeding, liver disease or liver cancer, severe migraine headaches, if you also take certain hepatitis C medication, if you will have major surgery, if you smoke and are over 35, or if you have ever had a heart attack, a stroke, a blood clot, jaundice caused by pregnancy or birth control pills, or cancer of the breast, uterus/cervix, or vagina.

Taking birth control pills can increase your risk of blood clots, stroke, or heart attack. You are even more at risk if you have high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, or if you are overweight. Your risk of stroke or blood clot is highest during your first year of taking birth control pills. Your risk is also high when you restart birth control pills after not taking them for 4 weeks or longer.

Smoking can greatly increase your risk of blood clots, stroke, or heart attack. Your risk increases the older you are and the more you smoke. You should not take combination birth control pills if you smoke and are over 35 years old.

Do not use if you are pregnant. Stop using Tri-Lo-Marzia and tell your doctor right away if you become pregnant, or if you miss two menstrual periods in a row. If you have recently had a baby, wait at least 4 weeks before taking birth control pills.

If you need major surgery or will be on long-term bed rest, you may need to stop using this medicine for a short time. Any doctor or surgeon who treats you should know that you are using estradiol and levonorgestrel.

If you miss 2 active pills in a row in Week 1 or 2, take 2 pills per day for 2 days in a row. Then take 1 pill per day for the rest of the pack. Use back-up birth control for at least 7 days following the missed pills.

If you miss 2 active pills in a row in Week 3, throw out the pack and start a new pack the same day if you are a Day 1 starter. If you are a Sunday starter, keep taking a pill every day until Sunday. On Sunday, throw out the rest of the pack and start a new pack that day.

If you miss 3 active pills in a row in Week 1, 2, or 3, throw out the pack and start a new pack on the same day if you are a Day 1 starter. If you are a Sunday starter, keep taking a pill every day until Sunday. On Sunday, throw out the rest of the pack and start a new pack that day.
