Subject: Seeking a Drupal developer for a project over the next 3-5
weeks
Environmental Defense Fund is seeking a back-end web developer to complete the third and final stage of a multi-media website, Green Jobs California.
Background
The purpose of the site is to provide a comprehensive, green career planning tool for those looking to enter California's growing green economy, to present a set of educational resources for policy makers (and the general public) to learn more about the opportunities associated with green jobs, and to create a platform for EDF's other existing green job resources.
Scope of Work & Deliverables
Whoever takes on this project must be familiar with Drupal since this was the platform used to develop the site's databases. It will also help if the developer has an interest in the subject matter and/or any experience working for or developing websites for environmental or non-profit organizations.
The ideal candidate should also have familiarity with front-end web development in case of any changes that may need to be made to the page wireframes in the QA phase.
To this point, all front-end design and engineering (CSS/HTML for the pages) has been done by another consultant, with partial back-end work completed. What's needed to carry the site to fruition is as follows:
- Drupal theming
Full integration of design templates, CSS/HTML, for the site which
consists of 15 pages total
- Drupal database
Build functionality for searching, filtering, and displaying output for two straight forward databases utilizing the views module (whose basic architectures have already been developed in Drupal).
- Drupal UI (User Interface)
Development of an interface for uploading content to the site using Drupal fields with the CCK module.
- Drupal Content
Import the final data/content
- QA testing
Timeline
We have not set an official launch date but would like to receive all deliverables sometime in the first 2 weeks of August. However, a faster turn-around time will be given preference since we have already extended beyond our initial, estimated launch date.
