AMEC Membership clarification

It looks like AMEC expects to be ice racing for the next 3 weekends. So far it also looks like CNYIRA and F L I R don’t have any great prospects for good ice, although that could change at any moment.

 

There was a bit of confusion about having to be an AMEC member before the season starts, so I asked their president how that works and here is his answer to that question:

 

Hi Casey,  

 

                It is only the first race of the season that we will not renew or accept a new member unless they make arrangements before the race. The first day with all the forms and making sure everyone signs is enough without having to give out car numbers, answer questions, etc.  Now that season is underway anyone that wants to race is more than welcome to come out and join us, renewal or new member and can take care of it at registration. If they want to email us and get a car number it makes it a lot faster and they can bring the paper work with them race day. I hope this helps, we've got plenty of ice at the moment and should be racing for at least the next three weeks.

I hope that clears it up for those who were worried that it was too late to sign up to race with them.
