Robbin,

John and Neville are speaking this afternoon and the issue of ads (placement, mock ups, workflow, etc.) will be discussed. My understanding is that the ads are going to be the responsibility of the marketing team and not something that you need to be concerned with right now. If that changes we will let you know.

Let's use the following deadlines, keeping to the August 1 real-time benchmark:

Tuesday, 7/30
     - All launch-version sections designed and populated so we can see how it all looks and functions.
     - Mock-ups of ads and placements on the site.

Wednesday, 7/31
     - Content (editorial) workflows complete. The workflows will specify section editors, blog editors (in both cases, read: people responsible for updating), content sources, etc.
     - Ad workflows. (Who does what and how does it all work?)
     - Project review. How does the beta site look?

Thursday, 8/1: Begin running in quasi-real time. This is a walk through" so we can see how it all works.

In order for the Watch and Digest tabs to be populated in time, they need Neville to make the requested Watch layout changes and the NYC team needs to make and communicate with the DC team their final decision on the new Digest content (Robb - you were going to send this to them yesterday but they have not yet received it).

I agree that the deadlines should be pushed back at least a day for us to prepare and plan out how we are going to hit those deadlines.

The only issue I see here that I am confused by is regarding what we should be doing with ad workflows. I know very little about our outlook on how we plan on getting ads or who we are targeting with our ads.

Any information regarding the ad workflows would be helpful.

Chelsey pls work with both teams on new sked that gets us to 8/1. I built a slack day in; that comes out.

We will have a new design for Pro Con and JTJ. Neville building template if its not already up. It just follows Home2.

I will be renaming some tabs.

We need to pick up pace so I am just going to make some decisions.

Hey,

I agree with Chelsey especially the first deadline, July 29th should be pushed back because Digest and Watch need  two days to be cleaned up. We are working on a new layout that is more visually appealing but it's going to take day of our full attention. Also, teams need to come on a consensus of how to implement the new idea for Digest.

Thanks,

Ashley

I would suggest keeping the Aug 1 deadline but pushing the earlier deadlines back one day, since you wouldn't be notifying the team of these deadlines until the end of the day today (and tomorrow is only a half day).

Assuming (as we should) that Neville finishes rebuilding tonight the main and jump pages for Pro-Con and JTJ (he has already set up Home2 and News), I would like to set the following deadlines for this week and next...am soliciting your input:

Monday July 29 cob: all launch-version sections designed and populated so we can see how it all looks and functions.

Also on July 29: mock-ups of ads and placements on the site.

Tuesday, July 30 cob: content (editorial) workflows complete. The workflows will specify section editors, blog editors (in both cases, read: people responsible for updating), content sources, etc.

Also on July 30:  ad workflows. (Who does what and how does it all work?)

Weds, July 31:  project review. How does the beta site look?

Thurs, Aug 1:  begin running in quasi-real time. This is a walk through" so we can see how it all works.

We will start losing team members the week of Aug 5 so I think everybody will have a motivation to keep to the schedule.

FYI, as we move out of the stealth mode we can assign lawstreetmedia email addresses. The convention will be first initial last name at lawstreetmedia.com. This will be for anyone who is staying on past Aug 16.

Doing the workflows will enable us to know how many more people we need to recruit.

Please let me know what you think. I would like to get this out tomorrow afternoon.

Reminder: I will be o/o and out of pocket (off grid) through mid-afternoon.
