Hey Everyone,

I spoke with John about the Digest tab, the Money tab, and the Off Hours blog.

Digest:

John said that the name "Digest" will be kept for now. It may be subject to change in the future but what is important right now is the content.

- Digest will be exactly what we have envisioned it to be before; nothing has changed except the format.

- The Digest Landing Page will contain all of the topical sections we have decided on and may include more as we see fit. Right now the topics are:
          - Intellectual Property
          - Criminal
          - Corporate
          - Real Estate
          - Constitutional
          - Potential Others: Entertainment; Immigration; Employment

- As far as the actual post goes the format will follow this guideline:
          - Featured Photo; Topic Title underneath
          - Each entry will begin with the Date
                  - Underneath the date you will be the title of the story you
                    have that pertains to your topic;
                         - It should be in Bold and Underlined.
                  - Underneath the title will be a short description of the story.
                         - No more than 3-4 sentences;
                         - Hyperlink to the article including original author
                           and source
                                 - Ex: Robb Antony [Huffington Post]
                  - Finally you will include a Legal-Ease Section underneath
                    each entry.
Make sure to separate Legal-Ease from entry
                                 - This section will include descriptions of any
                                   legal terms or issues discovered in each entry;
this is your entry and can be in your words
                                   (PLAIN ENGLISH).

For a model look to the Corporate Law Digest by COB Today.

Money:

This tab is SEPARATE from Digest; It is it's own section.

This tab may include a Money blog but as Winston mentioned earlier; this tab will be including:

- Who are the players? Who are the movers?

- How much do they earn? What is their position?

The New York Times: Dealbook article a few days ago is the type of story we are looking for in this section. See below.

Off Hours Blog:

This is our new Rundown.

What this section will contain is light-hearted; upbeat; humourous news and articles that will grab the attention of law students and young lawyers.

We could include articles about hot new shows, books, networking events, etc.

We could also continue to populate this section with Buzzfeed-esque articles but the idea we had about going to events and reviewing them is also now a mission for this site. (Someone in NY could talk about the Century Foundation events we just attended).

We can also review books about the law and politics (Like Jonathan Alter's book "The Center Holds").

We can even talk about different events happening at our respective law schools; cities; and groups/clubs.

This can be our traffic generator in the beginning so let's keep this cool and hip.

Where Digest and Money will be our Serious side; Off Hours is our Not-so-serious side.

Sorry for the long e-mail guys. Let me know if you have any questions about any of this.

Best,

Robb Antony

CORRECTION: Off hours will be an additional Blog Section; NOT REPLACING RUNDOWN

This is excellent summary.  We did change the concept of the Digest page somewhat in our subsequent meeting so Robb could you document that and resend to everyone copied here?  jaj

Yes, so this is the NEW Digest format:

Each topic for Digest will now be its own PAGE; not its own post. This will be what the Digest Landing Page will contain...the list of pages within Digest.

Once you click on a specific Digest page you will then be seeing (writing) all of the entries in reverse chronological order.

There will be NO MORE SEPARATE LEGAL-EASE section; Everything else is the same but instead of writing out a summary of the article and then explaining it you are summarizing the article in PLAIN ENGLISH (No need to title it Legal-Ease either)

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

Questions relating to digest --

What do we call each page for the Digest? Meaning, do I title each post: "Real Estate Law Digest: July 29" or what....

Do we use the same photo for each Digest page, or do we base it on the day's top stories?

Are we only highlighting one story each day, or are we still posting the top stories in that section?

I also don't have the capability to create pages on my account any longer, so that will have to be fixed if each Digest post is going to be a separate page.

We are not making a new post for each day, rather you are making one post for the Real Estate Digest (Neville will later make this a page) The Real Estate Digest page will have one main featured photo; You will then compile the days entries (attaching photos as you go) and each day you will add them along with the date in reverse chronological order.

Do we use the same photo for each Digest page, or do we base it on the day's top stories?

The Digest section will have its own photo; each story that you post you can attach a photo of your own. Look at the Corporate law Digest model as I update it today for guidance.

Are we only highlighting one story each day, or are we still posting the top stories in that section?

All of the top stories for that specific topic that you can find. Right now it doesn't matter if we also cover it as a separate news article or blog; Digest will include the bare bones of that story explained in Plain English.

I also don't have the capability to create pages on my account any longer, so that will have to be fixed if each Digest post is going to be a separate page.

Neville will take care of this; he knows the plan; if it is not fixed by 3pm today we have a tentative meeting scheduled with John to go over it.
