JOB DESCRIPTION
Aol is looking for Java/J2EE developers who have experience working on
a Unix platform. The project is to re-engineer current Entertainment
System of Record from the old Legecy/Sybase to MySQL (Open Source).
The architecture is 4+ years old and is showing signs of wear. Current
system was not built to handle the exacting standards of today's web
with needs to process and publish large content feeds to front-end
with minimal lag time making it able to quickly integrate new content
feeds easily. Experience working with Unix is important because the
old Legacy process is Unix based so this will speed up the migration.
Experience with MySQL or Sybase is not a must have but would be a huge
plus. The candidate will be developing old code into Java to
interface with MySQL. The position will be 10-30%design and 70-90%
development. This is a casual work environment and the hours a
relativly flexable. The location is 6th Ave and 51st/Radio City.
