Lecture 4 covered some probability which many of us have either
forgotten or never knew. Luckily the "textbook" for the prereq
"Mathematics for Computer Science" is available via OCW!

Look at Week 12 for Introduction to Probability, and some of the other
readings may be useful too.

That probability indicator function is widely used, and a bit hard to
understand, so a bit of refresh on it is a good thing.

Someone mentioned the Bernoulli distribution, which is also heavily
used in this area (I haven't seen all the lectures, but when I took a
similar course, it was used a lot.

Throw in a Poisson distribution, and I think most of the commonly used
probability stuff will be covered.
