Last Day of Jan 2012 + More Fun!

Hello friends,

Happy Tuesday!  Here are some ideas of how to celebrate this last day of January + lots of other fun to look forward to:

1. ICE SKATE: Tuesdays thru 2/7 - Admission and skate rentals are only $7.50 (reg. $12 admission + $9 rentals) @ The Rockefeller Ice Rink in celebration of their 75th Anniv.

2. EAT IN WILLIAMSBURG: Tonight!

• 630-830pm: FREE Frito Pie (chili + cheese + corn chips!) for first 150 @ Mable's Steakhouse (44 Berry St), courtesy of Google Places. 
  
• You have a good shot - only 51 people said yes or maybe to going so far - FB Invite.
  
• 7-10pm: First "Masters of Social Gastronomy" Food Lecture Series @ Public Assembly (70 North 6th St)
• From the FB Invite: This month's topic is STRANGE MEAT! Sarah will recount her adventures eating beaver, bear and moose "mouffle," along with the historic precedent for each. Soma will be taking on unusual meat preparations, from how to turn jerky into cotton candy to what to do with a pig's head. Word on the street is we might even have samples.

3. UPCOMING:

• There are still $10 preview tix for new Broadway shows, Harvey (starring Jim Parsons from BBT as an invisible rabbit) + Don't Dress for Dinner (sequel to Boeing-Boeing) - and better seats too: now you can sit in Front Mezz (reg. $92-117)!  See my old post HERE for how to get tix, and email me to join us!
• 2/1 (All month) - 20th Annual Hot Chocolate Festival @ City Bakery (3 W18th St + 5th Ave) AND Pancake Month @ Clinton St Bakery (4 Clinton St) is back!  Feb might be my few fave month: )  You can be sure I will be going as many times as I can!
  
• 2/3 - Nat'l Carrot Cake Day
• 2/4 - Nat'l Stuff Mushroom Day
  
• 2/5 @ 3pm: Puppy Bowl VII - Way cuter than any Giant or Patriot: ) - check out the starting line up of puppies playing in the Animal Planet Puppy Bowl!
