Hello everyone!

I wanted to introduce a site I just launched that complements the
ideas of Shared Squared. I am currently focused on building an active
user community and would love feedback and insights from the group. I
am also interested in helping out with any planning for the upcoming
event. Please see below for some more information about Favor
Traders:

Favor Traders is a social online collective that creates a simple way
for people to help out members of their communities by sharing their
free time. The basic idea is that we all have so many things to get
done and we don’t always have free time when we need it or know how to
do everything by ourselves. But we probably know someone who can help
us out. The only problem is that it is often difficult to figure out
who can or wants to help. As a user you invite people to join one or
more of the five community groups – family, friends, co-workers,
classmates and neighbors. You can post requests (babysitting, help
with moving, dog sitting – anything really) to people or groups you
think may be able to assist and they can offer to help you out. If
you accept, a favor is traded. There is a virtual currency on the
site based on time that creates a pay it forward environment.

Just to give you some insight on how people have been using the site
so far:
The first favor traded was one person helping another to clean out her
closet. Some others have been apartment research for a new move, two
friends offered to sub for some players in a softball game, a friend
joined another for a run in the park for motivation. Currently people
are asking to learn how to drive stick, hem pants, make a good tomato
sauce and help with grocery shopping for a sick friend.

Thanks and I look forward to becoming more involved with this group!

Jen
