- we had great introductions and learned about each other's passions/projects

Millicent from Shareable discussed their recent event in SF:

• 150 attendees
• Several "wins"
• 50 people continue to interact semi-regularly
• developed a shared story and messaging
  
• met in person people they didn't know
• networked non-aligned folks
• dept. of environment
• small business administration
• spin off incubators, coworking spaces, job creators, etc
• people felt empowered
• they have a write up- I'll ask for it

SF also recently hosted a "hackathon" open to all - people proposed and executed on projects
Effort to host similar event in NYC in November


Discussion on what our group needs:

• media channel
• network
• events

What will this group be:

• time to try different models
• potential segmentation when we expand
• meetup is a good platform
• need a web page- (in progress)- landing page for the curious

Near term goals

• grow group
• get a good mix of people
• develop our talking points and statement of goals
• make collaboration understandable and desirable and build momentum for a Nov event

you may have connections to individuals working at p2p companies and this shouldn't all be about founders.

I encourage you, us to think who to invite and if someone has already been invited it doesn't hurt to double ask them. It is said folks have to hear a name 7 times before it becomes a recognized brand right?

Matt! Thanks so much for sharing this and your time on the phone yesterday afternoon. It was great talking with you. Count me in for Green Drinks on Tuesday for sure.

I'm hoping to rouse an entrepreneurial friend with a background in environmental law - who is also a software developer working on aggregated social media management tools - maybe he can help us stream line those marketing activities?
