Hey All,

Great to see you at this last NYC.js! We're hosting a hardware hack, details below, eventbrite link here. LMK if you have questions.

@rwaldron@sarajchipps@aneomi@reconbot, and @nexxylove would like to invite you to come hack on hardware for a weekend in February.

This weekend is beginner friendly, we will have folks on hand to answer questions. If you're not sure what you would work on reach out and let us know! We have plenty of suggestions.

Saturday will kick off with a brief introduction to Arduino, and Arduino + JavaScript. Rick Waldron will be going over his framework Johnny-Five which allows developers to get these techonolgies working together quckly and painlessly.

This isn't a hackathon, so no prizes :). We're just hacking together for the weekend. At the end of the weekend if you'd like to share what you've been working on we will have a time for that.

There will be happy hour drinks as a group organized at the end of both days.

There are two kinds of tickets available. One comes with the Sparkfun inventor's kit that you can use for the weekend. We reccommend this ticket if you don't already have a project you are working on.

The money from ticket sales is going towards food/drink for the weekend. We aren't working with sponsors.

PLEASE NOTE: Johnny-five does not yet support Windows. Windows users should have an OSX or Linux VM—or be willing to land support for windows before the event.

If you're looking to get started before the weekend, please download Johnny-Five from the Git repository at git://github.com/rwldrn/johnny-five.git
