Join us for a forum and report launch about solutions for engaging young people who are often over-prosecuted, underserved, or ignored.

Pinkerton Foundation and National Institute for Criminal Justice Reform (NICJR) are proud to present a new report titled High Risk and Hard to Reach: Solutions for young people often over-prosecuted, underserved, or ignored. Co-authored by Pinkerton Visiting Fellow Vincent Schiraldi along with David Muhammad and Mikaela Rabinowitz from NICJR, the report identifies the unique challenges faced by high risk and hard to reach youth and argues that the next phase of criminal justice reform must focus on intentionally and effectively serving this demographic.

In partnership with Women Building Up, the High Risk and Hard to Reach Forum will bring together policymakers, philanthropy, advocates, and service providers to challenge the notion that more incarceration for young people equals more safety for the rest of us and to look at policies, practices, and programs that can effectively address the needs of the most vulnerable, and challenging, youth. The day will include a presentation and overview of the report (with copies available for attendees), panel discussions featuring youth leaders and non-profit leaders who are serving justice-impacted women and girls. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided as well as many opportunities to network and connect with peers.
