Hello friends!
I'm here to share this recommendation from a fellow journalism teacher for "The New Yorker at 100": I just wanted to give a recommendation for journalism advisors to share the documentary "The New Yorker at 100" with their students. I'm going to start showing excerpts from the Netflix doc to my newspaper kiddos. The film features writers such as Nick Paumgarten and Dhruv Khullar doing field reporting, shows how the staff tackled election night 2024 both in the field and from the magazine's offices, details the exhaustive fact checking process the magazine deploys, and documents some of the magazine's history making reportage such as Rachel Carson's Silent Spring and Truman Capote's In Cold Blood.
I use my hot spot to be able to access the Netflix stream on the SmartBoard (teacher workaround).
