Sending this on behalf of a graduate student at the CUNY J-School who's working on what sounds like a very interesting and valuable project related to high school journalism.

If you have 15-20 minutes to spare to talk with her, I think you'll appreciate it as much as she does.

Info below; please feel free to contact her directly:

My name is Carlin McCarthy and I'm a graduate student in the Engagement Journalism program at CUNY's Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism. I'm currently working on building an information needs assessment of high school journalists focused on what tools and skills they want to learn to better inform their communities.

As part of my research process, I'm looking to speak with high school teachers about their experiences advising student publications and/or teaching journalism since you all play such an important part in teaching those tools and skills. Whether this is your first year teaching or your twentieth, I'd love to hear about what challenges you and your students face as well as the successes you've had in your newsrooms and classrooms.

If you're interested in chatting with me I can be reached at carlin.m...@journalism.cuny.edu and 203-414-8629. Thank you and look forward to hearing from you all!
