The New York Philharmonic, in partnership with the Abyssinian Baptist Church and the Unsung Collective, will launch a ten-week youth choir program in The Dr. Calvin O. Butts III Educational and Cultural Center in Harlem. Led by Dr. Tyrone Clinton, founder and artistic director of the Unsung Collective, the program will provide young people from the community with access to high-quality musical training and a deeper connection to the cultural fabric of New York City.
ELGIBILITY
The Philharmonic Youth Choir is open to students currently in grades 5–8
with or without a background in music. Students must reside in New York City.
REHEARSALS
Saturdays from 10:00am–1:00pm,
beginning February 28
Orientation, February 7 at 10:00am (via Zoom)
