Riverdale Press Offering Internships to High School Teens (unpaid)

Spend the summer learning the ins and outs of local journalism with The Riverdale Press. During this internship program, you will get the chance to:

- Assist reporters in research and reporting.
- Learn to shoot photos for news.
- Learn how to pitch and pursue your own stories.
- Assist with the paper’s special sections and What’s On pages.
- Learn about the production process for a print newspaper.

Over the course of the summer, you may cover features, sports, local events and more.

This opportunity is open to high school and college students. This is an unpaid internship. Interns are expected to spend 2-3 days a week working from our Riverdale office.

Prior experience is not required, however, the most competitive candidates will have:

- Prior news internship, freelancing or school paper experience.
- Strong writing skills, deadline adherence and news judgement.
- Interest in assisting in coverage of a wide range of topics.
- Strong educational background in journalism, communications or English.
- Foreign language skills, particularly in Spanish.

The internship will begin June 1 and run through the end of August.
