Hi again

Just curious if anyone would like to get together next week, perhaps
over a pint, to chat about Erlang.
I know that everyone here is of different skill levels and has
different uses for Erlang, but I thought perhaps something informal
might be a good re-group ice breaker (unless someone would like to
give a presentation :).

Thoughts?

Would like that, but it depends on when and where.

Since you are the first responder, what is the most convenient place/
time for you?

That would be somewhere close to Penn Station, after 7:00 PM either
Mon, Tue or Thu.
Well, to be completely honest the most convenient place for me would
be somewhere in Central NJ, but I guess that would be a bit of a
stretch :)

I'm in. But I have limited post-work time since I've moved upstate.  Midtown is best for me.

Downtown or brooklyn works best for me, but I'm flexible.

I'd most likely be coming in from Brooklyn as well, but can meet
pretty much anywhere. Although central Jersey is a bit of a trek ;-)

So it seems like we are somewhat split between midtown and Brooklyn.
For those in Brooklyn, is there a place in midtown that would make it
worth your while to get up here?

I don't normally go that far north -- you know, way up there into "the
numbers" -- so I don't know of any places, but things near the F line
are marginally easier. It doesn't really matter that much to me
though.

As long as midtown is somewhere between Union Square and Grand Central
I'm good. East or West just tells me which line to transfer to at
Union Square :-)

IMO, Union Square seems like the best compromise. It's easy to get to from (most of) Brooklyn, and close to midtown.

I'm up for union square.  close to my office.

Guys, sorry if this interferes with any plans, but there's a
significant possibility I won't be able to make it next week.
So please disregard my previously mentioned preferences and set the
meeting up according to what is convenient for you.
I'll try to make it, if I can.

Thanks, and sorry again for any inconvenience.

Well I am certainly down for Union Square. Anyone have a place around
there that they particularly like?

anywhere but coffee shop.  I hate that place.

Deal. No Coffee Shop.

guess if I'm going to boo a bar I should offer positive feed back.  I recommend something on the east side of union square to get away from commuters.

I've been here http://www.yelp.com/biz/revival-new-york and enjoyed it.  Nice outdoor area if the weather holds, but if it is cold like it is today then there should be plenty of room upstairs.

Sorry for the radio silence, I moved this weekend.
Regardless of the final destination, does Thursday of this week for
everyone?

works for me :)

What is a good time for everyone?  I usually leave around 6.  This place is close to my work so I can get there fairly quickly.  So is 6:30 good for everyone?  or 7?

Ok, so unless there are any objections, we will meet up tonight at
7ish at Revival near Union Sq for a nerd-out.
I am wearing a yellow button down, untucked.

See you there!

I'll be there wearing a giant parka with nothing but a black lace teddy underneath.

Look forward to the parka look Rick.

I'll be the blonde-hair guy with a blue sweater.
