Hi Everyone,

I just sent this message out via email, but I wanted to repost it
here, for the record, minus the calendar login info.

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday was an excellent start to our efforts! Thanks to all who
helped make it possible.

Here are some follow-up items:

1. Minutes: Our minutes are available on the web here:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-Bs-APBhKfYRScJKDSU20WDAOhbRziY9XntPJmoptvc/edit?hl=en_US
(note: I closed down editing; if you would like to make any changes,
please send me an email and I'll open it up for you). Thanks to all
who contributed.

2. Google Group: http://groups.google.com/group/nycdigitalhumanities
-- Please note that this is a different URL than the one I sent out at
the end of the meeting. I wanted to make sure that the group and
calendar had similar names, so I had to work through the namespaces
that were still available. This is a public group.

3. Public Calendar:
https://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src=nycdigitalhumanites.events%40gmail.com&ctz=America/New_York
-- to add events to the calendar, you'll need to log in to the shared
account I created for us. Here's how:

1. Go to http://www.google.com/calendar
2. CONTACT MATT (matt...@gmail.com) FOR LOGIN INFO
3. Google calendar help here, if you need it: http://www.google.com/support/calendar/

If you want to embed the calendar in a webpage, use the code here:
http://pastebin.com/6Y5eZusu
Calendar XML feed: https://www.google.com/calendar/feeds/nycdigitalhumanites.events%40gmail.com/public/basic
iCal link: https://www.google.com/calendar/ical/nycdigitalhumanites.events%40gmail.com/public/basic.ics

4. Next Meeting: We agreed that we should try to meet twice a semester
and that our next meeting, which will take place in October, will be
at Columbia (provided we can secure space).

5. Name: You'll notice that I took the liberty of giving us a name --
certainly one that we can change, if needed, as we move forward.

If anyone has problems with anything above, please let me know. And
thanks again to all!

Best,

Matt

A total of fourteen people were physically in attendance at the
meeting today and one virtual one via skype (Bob Scott). A total of
seven institutions were represented around the table, including
Columbia, NYU, Fordham, the New School, NYPL, Bard Grad Center, and
CUNY. I’ve added the new people to this email list (at the end of the
CC:’s) and Matt Gold has set up a Google group and a Google Doc of the
minutes of the meeting (look for email from Matt on these two things).
It was a good meeting and we’ve scheduled another one for October,
tentatively at Columbia. Thank you Barbara for getting this launched.
Hopefully your child is feeling better.
Best to all,
Steve Brier
