I am posting the following announcement for a colleague. I hope this is helpful. Please contact Gail directly with injuries.
--Dear Friends and Colleagues,
I am delighted to announce a new Supervision/Training group for mental health practitioners who work in agencies and or in private practice. The group will meet weekly, Monday evenings from 7:30pm to 9:00pm OR from 2:30 pm to 4 pm on Monday afternoons.
As some of you know, my experience spans almost 4 decades of direct practice and extensive clinical training in the psychoanalytic (various branches) and psychodynamic framework. My group education and training has and continues to be of the modern psychoanalytic frame.
I have a long standing private practice, in addition to thirty two years in public mental health. My experience also includes teaching on the master’s level and training NYC city case -workers in clinical practice/issues.
The focus of this group is to examine, consult and process clinical and contextual material with the group. The emphasis is to provide a safe and supportive working/learning /experiential - environment that offers engagement, constructive insight and feedback to members. This group is an opportunity to develop a meaningful supportive community of practioners.
Processing issues of practice, including transference, counter-transference, framework, understanding psycho-dynamics, interpretations, will be examined and discussed, for all the varied populations presented and varied interventions and modalities of treatment. One of the objectives and outcomes of this work will support each member’s ability to increase one's emotional and professional range.
The group members will have an opportunity to experience a parallel with the group and their work.
If you know of any individuals who might be interested in expanding their body of knowledge, increase their range and open to an experiential process, please share.
I will meet with all potential members prior to the group. The group at this time is open to members joining at different intervals.
If you have any questions please let me know.
For those professional that have earned their LCSW and working towards the R credential in New York State I will be able to sign for those hours of participation.
With gratitude and appreciation.
