Interesting, 

I don't think most bariatric surgeons give the psychological aspects of surgery much attention. They are generally looking to increase the numbers of surgeries. Interestingly, the last line notes that although many individuals with obesity consider surgery most do not go through with it in spite of the benefits. I published a study a while back about the psychological factors involved in dropping out of surgery. The idea seems to be getting attention now.
