Please see below a job offer of the youth constituency. We are currently looking for a youth involved at COP15 with the YOUNGOs to write/coordinate the redaction of the reports related to youth participation in Copenhagen.

YOUNGO COP15 Wrap-up report staff position

APPLICATION DEADLINE:  Sunday February 7, 2010 at 2359GMT
Employment period:
 Full-time from February 15, 2010 to March 29, 2010 
Renumeration: 2000 Euros
Description: The wrap-up report position is focused on producing two final reports: a high impact external document of COP15 youth activities and a summary internal report that captures key activities and recommendations. The position will involve lots of writing as well as research, synthesis and likely a series of conversations with key individuals.

Responsibilities

  • Produce a succinct but powerful and inspiring analytical framework for youth participation
  • Compile key information from series of reports and evaluations produced on specific YOUNGO COP15 activities
  • Produce external report - short 'glossy' summary of youth activities at COP15, based on the rationale set out in the NL-funding application.
  • Produce internal report - summary report of youth activities and recommendations

 

Note: Ideally candidate attended COP15
Position commences immediately upon hiring


Experience and Qualifications

·       Excellent writing and editing skills in English are desirable

·       Excellent research, analytical and information synthesis skills

·       Strong inter-personal skills

·       Ability to manage workload, and input from multiple sources

·       Ability to work independently and on own initiative with little supervision

·       Knowledge of the youth climate movement, particularly YOUNGO and youth activities at the UNFCCC

·       Preferably attended COP15 as a member within YOUNGO

·       Access to own computer and regular internet access


Selected candidates will be invited to an interview conducted by a committee. The chosen candidate will be expected to start the position right away, ideally to be informed by the 11th of February, 2010

All staff positions work on behalf of the youth constituency as a whole and will not favor any particular delegation, organization or individual in their work, instead acting in the best interest of the youth movement. Each position will involve working as part of a team to deliver position objectives.

Applications should consist of max one page letter addressing experience and qualifications identified above, plus a resume. Please also provide a minimum of two writing samples with your application.

Deadline for applications to be submitted is the 7th of February 2010 at 2359 GMT, interviews to take place the 9th and 10th of February 2010.
