Hi all,

I am happy to forward the call for participants for the 2011 version of the Jokkmokk Winter Conference. The conference this year will focus on "Pathways to Sustainable Northern Communities", please see the call reproduced below as well as the program attached. Pasted from the webpage of the conference:

Jokkmokk Winter Conference is an annual international forum for university students, young decision makers and opinion builders from North America, Northern Europe and Russia. The aim of the conference is to offer young people an opportunity of working with the future, meeting friends and developing new strategies and initiatives for the North. Their recommendations and demands will be handed over and discussed with governmental representatives from Sweden, Norway, Finnland, Canada and the US.

The conference is organized in the Northern Swedish town of Jokkmokk and is targeted at young environmentalists and students. Participation is free of charge. If any of you remembers the doubt expressed on this mailing list one year ago when the 2010 edition was promoted, please note that the organizers seem to have been taking feedback into account and have addressed some of the issues raised.

If you are planning on coming, please let me know :)

I would be also glad if you can forward this message particularly to youth in the Northern regions of Norway/Sweden/Finland. It feel a little lonely up there in the North ;)

Have a good autumn,

Seb
