Get off ok.general!!

Here's my solution. One that maybe everyone can get behind.
Since I'm already a member of the Southern Poverty Law Center (make
monthly donations of a set amount) and also work with them in using
their Teaching Tolerance Packages at schools around here, and because my
husband recently got a great job and I can do this now...
Every time one of you cross posting trolls posts a racist joke, or a
racist tirade, or a link to something that that horrible man Pierce
said, I am going to add an extra $10 per month to my contribution to
Morris Dees S.P.L.C. Anything racist or bigoted gets Dees, who I know
you all hate, an extra $10 a month. That could really add up for me, so
I hope you just quit posting to ok.general
Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got bacon frying.

If you racist bigoted slimeball pigs weren't so pathetic, you'd be a joke
all by yourselves.

Since you seem to hate the United States of America so much, with its belief
that all citizens should be equal under the law regardless of ancestry, why
don't you leave and found your own little piece of white supremacist heaven
up around the North Pole? There, at least, everything you'd see would be
white.

Right on!! There is one country established on an old oil rig and since the
gulf is full of dead oil rigs the white racists could use them as island
countries. They could have there own money with pictures of KKK leaders. Not
sure what they could do for industry and trade although George W. would
probably help them out. Any ideas?

Why not work on your reading comprehension? I didn't call anyone racist, or
mention censorship. I merely corrected your asinine statement about this being
America. For the record, though, I don't think your "jokes" are appropriate
either.

not the one who needs to learn to read.

By the way, you might want to calm down. You're beginning to look foolish.

On the same token, if a white man spends 20 years doing nothing but
thinking up racist jokes, he'll never be any better than where he
started. So the question should be asked: why not do things to improve
your life and give up the jokes? They aren't funny anyway unless you're
drunk and living in Idaho.

Southern Poverty Law center is a communist/socialist/liberal front for the
liberal agenda and facism in disguise.

These yoyos are the nanny motherfuckers who want to control your life, your
thoughts and your speech. These assholes are the people who want busing,
welfare, more taxes and more socialism.

What they would really like to do with the internet is censor it all and to
make sure only their idea of free speech is allowed.
They want all your guns taken away from you and for more laws to keep you in
check.

Resist these do-gooding socialist liberals at every step.

I knew that would get to a few of you. And their record on the 1st
ammendment ain't great, but I don't care. I've got my ACLU card for
that. What they do they do well, and I'll take a liberal facist who
doesn't hate any day over a uneducated, socially deprived, small minded
bigot. I'm doing what I said I'd do. (Up to a point. I can't pay too
much every month, but I'll stretch it a little. I'm sick of feeling
helpless toward all the idiotic, racist ranting I read on here. I have
to do something proactive.)

What a whimp you are.

86% of residents in the midwest don't own deadly firearms, and even if they
did, they couldn't use them properly when the time came. They'd shit

Really? Where do you live?
Do you have lots of valuables?
Can I come over and visit with you?
Got any nubile daughters and a nice looking wife and a nice new car?
Do you daughters know your stand on non-violence and gun ownership and do
they have their own plans when daddy is on his sucking the home invader's
dicks in a vain attempt to keep them from killing him?

Why don't you just walk around with a big sign on your back " I have lots of

Of course you would see it that way. Did I say anything about my "stand on
non-violence and gun ownership"? No, I did not. Did I say "I refuse to defend
myself" or that "I trust you"? No, of course not. Break into my house and see
what you get.

The point is you liberals all sit around and whine about how "someone should
do something" about this and that and very rarely do you yourself do
anything except to vote for politicians to take away our money to fund your
socialist liberal programs.

It's like christians and church and the offering plate or leaving all your
money to the church when you die; they think they can buy their way into
heaven. You liberals think you can buy yourself some peace and get rid of
your guilt feelings by spending my money on useless feel-good projects that
only enrich the politicians, crooks and the grifters.

When you spend a year in the Peace corp, come back and talk to me.

Because I have children, and kids find a way to get guns. Quit lecturing
me. I don't want a gun. I know all about guns, and my experiences don't
fit well into your fairy tail dreamland. I'm not against guns, I'm just
against them for me.

Why, child, I HAVE found my own piece of heaven, but it is far from being
fascist (why don't you look up the actual MEANING of that word before you so
blithely toss it off as a perjorative. Since you're so much smarter than I am,

principles are spelled out in two pieces of writing called The Declaration of
Independence and The Bill of Rights (first ten amendments) of the Constitution
of the United States.

Long ago and far away I took an oath to protect and defend that very same
Constitution. Since its underlying philsophy is diametrically opposed to the

upholding that oath.

Ah, I am a liberal (which, paradoxically, is why I voted for George Bush this
time).
I believe in the Constitution of the United States of America -- ALL of it.
I believe in the principle of equality under the law, regardless of skin tone,
gender, religion, or any other irrelevant factor.

But I KNOW that the right to life logically implies the right to self-defense.
I KNOW that the right to self-defense is a specious right unless an individual
is permitted to obtain and use effective means of self-defense.

I am the NRA -- and I vote.

(Oh, and guess what: by most parameters, Charleton Heston is also a life-long
liberal who actively supported the Civil Rights Movement at a time when most
other "liberal" Hollywood actors were safely keeping their mouths shut. Do you
want to know where you find the most 1960's liberals who remain true to their
principles? In the NRA.)

Very few people have very expensive trained attack or watch dogs.

It costs about $10,000 for a good one.

A regular doberman or rottwieler is nothing more than a walking nice juicy
steak to the eyes of a Korean burglar.

I'll run like the wind if I thought the dog was a real attack trained dog,
with his vocal cords cut out making that wheezin noise at the last second as
he goes either for your testicles, throat or guts.

But if I were a burglar or a home invader, I'd go for Serena and that other
guy who advertised that they don't beleive in guns.

Wouldn't it be nice in your neighborhood if non-gun owners who made to put
little signs on their front yards to identify them?

You are painting with entirely too broad a brush, and even then, don't
really have it right.

I consider myself more conservative than liberal and am highly trained in
the use (not misuse) of firearms. I own several.

There are more liberals than conservatives involved in the banning of
firearms.

You might fit the mold of "classical" liberal, and you might even fit the mold
of 1960s liberal. The modern definition seems very difficult to pin down to
me. Same goes for conservative. Your views, from what I've read in austin.
general and talk.politics.guns, seem more lower case libertarian, if you have
to put a label on it.

>

Yep, that's pretty much true, but it goes way beyond that. The U.S.C.
outlines powers of the government and limits on its powers, especially
with regards to individual rights. Individual rights from the view of the
U.S.C. trump government powers. We have the opposite case right now
in the U.S.

That RKBA has even become an issue tells me how far we have strayed from
using the U.S.C. as a guide in the law. I suspect that does not surprise you.

That's a bit naive, IMO. The NRA really does not have a sterling record in
taking the right side in protecting RKBA. Further, the NRA and most of its
membership, seem like one issue advocates and where civil liberties that
do not relate to RKBA are concerned, the NRA and often large chunks of
its membership come down on the wrong side WRT respect of civil
liberties. That's another thread however.

Oh, really? How about the hundreds of deaths that occur every year from
kids who know all about guns, have been around them their whole lives,
and are trained, but then go and do something stupid. Like my nephew,
Tommy, son of a police officer. He took out his daddy's gun, which was
locked up, but he knew where the key was... he showed it to his friend,
and his friend shot him in the face. Some safety. Tell it to someone who
hasn't been there and doesn't know better.
And oh yeah, don't call me "dear lady." It's condescending, patronizing,
and implies that you know what the fuck you're talking about and that I

Reality is that you want to take away my guns because your nephew was
too stupid to live, probably because his dad didn't emphasize gun
safety enough. Most of my friends own firearms, and have kids. Not
once has there been a problem, because the kids are taught proper gun
safety, and to never touch them when a parent isn't present. This is
reinforced by allowing them to touch the firearms when a parent is
present, thus removing the mystery and thrill of doing the forbidden.

Using your logic, I think we should ban cars because some drunk

Who said anything about wanting to take away anyone's guns? Just because
you want to live in a delusory fantasy that has people trying to take

Liar. At NO point has she advocated taking your, or anyone else's, guns.
She simply stated that they were not for HER.

Are you a Bible-thumping Jesus freak reminiscent of the Waco bunch? The "If

There is a lot of difference between choosing not to indulge in something

Until and unless you can comprehend the difference between making a choice
not to own firearms or have them in your home and campaigning to remove all
of them, don't go away mad, just go the fuck away.

Yes, that's all I'm saying. For me, I just don't want them in my house.
I think there was a time a few years ago where I may have shot my
husband if I had had one. And as a teen, if we had had a gun, who knows
if I would have shot myself at one point. It's my choice. I'm amazed at
all those who preach "freedom" seem to want to condemn the freedom to
not have a gun. Freedom means to each his own, as long as it doesn't
hurt anyone else. Why does the fact that I choose not to have a gun
cause such an angry reaction in some people? I don't try to force my
choice on anyone else, but the people who are always preaching freedom
and individual rights seem to forget all that when I make a choice that
is different from theirs.

Actually if you look at CDC stats guns are pretty low on the list, I did
a search from 1-18 years of age and got these figures-

100% agreed.

The American world is topsy turvy; the former liberals have turned into
facists and socialists and the conservatives have turned into slavering
muttering religious assholes who want a theocracy of only their brand of
christianity, and who's left that are normal, responsible people who
basically know what's right and wrong and who love our constititution and
bill of rights and democracy?

Who?

I think we need a new law about threads. They either end up referring to
Hitler, BJ's or guns, and at the point when one party calls another
party uneducated, the thread is degenerating to the point of no return.
I love it when someone calls me uneducated. That or when they call me
fat. Like either of those are going to bother a gal who had to work to
gain weight last year and graduated summa cum laude (not to mention
Cosby's "thank you, Lordy") with a B.S. in biochemistry, which means 72
hours of Chemistry, 6 hours of physics, and math through Calc 2. So to
me, that's just the writer's *own* insecurity showing through.

Here's the truth about income and education and voting trends:

Washington Post April 5, 2001

[Begin Partial Quote]

As recently as the 1988 contest between Michael S. Dukakis and George
Bush, voters
making more than $50,000 a year voted for the Republican by a 25
percentage point
margin, 62 percent to 37 percent. By the 2000 election, the spread in
the $50,000-plus
bracket fell to 7 percentage points, 53 percent Republican to 46 percent Democratic,
and to 11 percentage points -- 54 percent to 43 percent -- among the
richest voters,
those making more than $100,000.

In the process, some of the nation's best educated and highest income communities
have become Democratic bastions, and some of the nation's poorest white
counties --
especially in southern border states -- have turned into GOP strongholds.

In 2000, the voters in 17 out of 25 of the nation's most affluent
counties -- all with
high percentages!
of people with advanced degrees -- cast majorities for Al Gore,
sometimes by more
than 70 percent.

In nine out of the 10 poorest counties in Kentucky, for example, places
where the
Democratic Party of Harry S. Truman ran roughshod over Republican adversaries,
George W. Bush won, frequently by margins the mirror image of Gore's in
the nation's
richest and best educated counties.

These new voting patterns are changing the composition of the House.
According to a
study by the National Committee for an Effective Congress of the 88 congressional
districts that shifted from Democrat to Republican from 1994 to 2000, 59
had average
incomes below the national norm, and in 68, the percentage of residents
with college
degrees was below the national average.

Conversely, of the 46 seats that went from Republican to Democratic, 29
were districts
that had higher than average incomes.

The changes have not produced a full-scale reversal of the two parties' traditional
constituencies.
In the bottom half of the income levels, the Democratic Party remains
strong among
African Americans, Hispanics and white union members, while GOP support
has swelled
among nonunion whites. In the top half, there has been a realignment of white,
well-educated professionals (lawyers, doctors, scientists, academics),
now one of the
most reliably Democratic constituencies.

So you believe that this indicates some sort of larger social trend
rather than just the voter demographics in one election? It has
nothing to do with the fact that Democrats have ditched their
progressive stance to make their party more palatable to the
American mainstream?

Doctors benefit from socialized medicine? ROFLMAO. They were signaling
warnings while the general public was still swallowing the bait. Let's
see _which_ `doctors' (new bureaucrat term=providor) might: Academics

Did he note a slight difference in voting patterns in the suburbs
resulting from suburban flight to escape bureaucratic bungling in the
slum dominated cities? Cities around the Great Lakes have a very high
union presence with members led around by the union bosses, with that
usually goes high Afro-american density - another block vote that
obeys pathetic leaders. Some major cities have special situations -
NYC where a coalition of block votes by minority groups
(Afro-americans, Jews, Gays) can swing an election These are not
`individual voters', they are out for any advantage that they can sell
their vote for (usually very little except perhaps in the Jews seeking
dollars for Israel).

Well, actually, yes. It's a very long article that tracks trends seen in
congressional races and Presidential races from the time of Dukakis vs.

It's all really simple. Democrats and Republicans.

On one side are the stupid, the lazy and the people who suck at the
government's tit and have to vote democratic to keep the gravy train
rolling. Lump with them the liberals who haven't grown up yet and don't
make enough money to be concerned about taxes or savings.

On the other side are people who don't work for the government, make enough
money to actually pay taxes and believe in personal responsibility and
saving money for a rainy day and actually work and compete in the real world
for jobs, not at universities, unions or the government which only rewards
your ability to keep quiet and longevity to keep your job.

People who vote democrat are either young liberals or bloodsuckers.

People who vote republican are thrifty, hard working taxpayers who want to
keep their own money.

Pretty simplified, but that is the gist of them both.

Nice try, Mapi, but you're delusional. There are plenty of thrifty,

I know plenty of liberals who give generously of their own money to

My experience has been that the worst democrat is one from old money.
This democrat believes that high taxes are fine because they themselves
have no problem paying them. They've never had to build wealth and
savings because they inherited those. I'd wager to say that Serene is
one of these. She has admitted to being rich enough to pay her taxes
with no problem at all, and has furthurmore admitted to living in a very
posh and exclusive neighborhood.

Me, I was a liberal. Then two things happened. First, Bill Clinton got
blown by Lewinscrew. Second, and much more importantly, I lived in New
York City for a year. On an income of $20,000, I paid over $6,000 in
taxes. That left me with $14,000 to live on for the whole year, and in
New York City that's a paltry sum. After that experience I simply
cannot align myself with a political party that doesn't at least attempt
(even if they fail in the end) to lower taxes.

I dunno about "worst", but there are no old money Democrats,
except for the odd seventh son of a seventh son( who probably
doesn't have any money, anyway ). Old money in the US is Republican
and says "Boola Boola".

There is the odd Yella Dawg in the South who is still Democrat out
of habit, but that's falling quickly. The South isn't very Southern
anymore.

There are a few old hardcore Yankees who are still Democrat, but
they're disappearing rapidly, too.

In Tulsa, that's a paltry sum. Hell, that's poor in Jay. The 6K couldn't have

The Republicans will raise your taxes faster than the Dems, generally (other

No, the $6k wasn't all federal. In fact, only about 1/3 of it, $2k
was. Another $2k or $3k was New York State income tax, and then another
$1k or $2k in municpal taxes. I guess something has to keep Albany New
York on its feet. That city's been stuck in a recession since 1970, and
the only thing left there is the state government of New York (oh, and
SUNY Albany). And I guess it must take alot of money to keep the
subways in the "shitty" (New York City) running so damned slow.

To be honest, another huge problem was housing costs. I paid over half
of my net income on rent. As a general rule, you're not supposed to pay
more than 1/3 net income on housing. But the only housing to be found
for $390 a month in New York City is in dangerous government subsidized
housing projects and is reserved for jobless mothers. (Oh, and this
housing has a long waiting list even for jobless mothers willing to live
in gangland).

No kidding. Remember those assholes Warren Buffet and Bill Gates urging
congress not to
give inheritence tax breaks during the tax cut?
Hell, 55% of 3 billion dollars is 1.5 billion left for one little girl.
Assholes.
Why don't they put on a long white wig, stand on a balcony and yell to the
middle class crowd below " let
them eat cake!"?
I hope what happened to clueless Louis and Marie Antoinette happens sooner
or later to our new aristocracy.

Then don't forget the sales tax you paid on everything, the tax on your
phone bill, your cell phone,
taxes taxes upon taxes and then the tax if you saved your money and then
wanted to use it to pay for your hemorrhoids operation that your HMO won't
cover, because, they can.

It's the hidden taxes, the "it's only pennies a day" tax that really gets
you.

Like toll roads.

I guess you never heard of Al Gore and the Kennedies, to just mention a few
of the
filthy rich democrats that run our country.

The biggest increasing demographic, that is scaring the shit out of the
repubs and dems,
are the "independents".

One reason why that moron Al Gore lost the election. Ralph Nader.
Independent. Anyone but the above
voters.
Give me a third choice in any election and 8 out of 10 times I'm going to
vote 3rd party even if it's a rabid chipmunk with delusions of grandeur and
a little brushy mustache and a funny salute.

You need to study history before you spout off stuff your liberal parents
indoctrinated into
you while they were stoned at the Greatful dead concert.
Go do your own research.
Suffice to say you're backackwards.

Generalizing??!!??

I'm not generalizing. I am dead-on accurate about this idiot. Every
single descriptive word I posted clearly and precisely describes this
imbecile.

When the lefties post their lies, I'll be happy to point them out for
the lies that they are.

Hmmmm.........

I'm counting 10 lies in this Austin idiot's post. The anonymous
imbecile has an uncanny knack for lying. I think he's related to one
of the clinoons.

BTW, try to figure out how to NOT top-post. (headers arranged so we
all know who posted what.)

I never said either one of those things. We've struggled plenty. And if
payroll taxes were cut, maybe you'd be helped in the above situation,
but while making only $20,000 a year, you're not paying a whole lot in
income taxes. Most of those taxes are payroll taxes, which the Democrats
tried to cut this year, but Bush would have none of it.
New York is one expensive place to live. They practically charge you to breathe.

I'd have voted for McCain this year if I'd had a chance. I actually did
vote for him in the Primary. (Imagine that, a registered Republican.) He
may be somewhat of a media darling, but I liked him a heck of a lot more
than Gore or Bush.
