Description: Our client is an Investment Management company. IDP Senior Programmer Analyst
Responsibilities
Responsible for all aspects of the software development lifecycle while working on complex assignments.
Research and suggest new technologies and approaches to utilizing existing technology and improving all aspects of the software development lifecycle process.
Participate in requirement gathering with business stakeholders and the quality control group. Assist in the preparation of requirement documentation and test plans.
Participate and provide exposure and mentoring of the following disciplines to junior members of the application development team: requirement gathering, database and application component analysis, design, coding, testing and implementation.
Participate in the analysis, design and modeling of application components, code and unit test development work. Partner with other team members in System/Integration testing, and assist in user acceptance testing with business stakeholders and the quality control group. Prepare and coordinate production turnover documentation and assure smooth migration of application components into the production environments.
Work with the quality control group and project leaders to manage resolution and provide support for production problems, enhancement requests as well as ad-hoc requests.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required.
5+ years experience using COBOL, DB2, VSAM, CICS, JCL and TSO/ISPF.
3 + years experience writing program specifications and systems documentation.
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work with minimum supervision.
Knowledge of mutual fund or brokerage business is desirable.
Must be able to proactively analyze each assignment thoroughly including doing detail reviews of existing programs and understand current programming details for the change as well as other areas that this change would impact.
