Description: .Supervises a staff of 8 to 10 employees; provides technical direction, estimates workload and resource requirements to ensure proper system support coverage.
2.Provides recommendations on hiring, promotions, and disciplinary actions of staff, provides training and counseling of staff as needed to ensure their skill sets meet the needs of the supported hardware and software.3.Analyzes and participates in security and data integrity controls for all production systems.
4.Provides technical direction, advanced technical support, and training to other production staff as needed.
5.Establish Performance Tuning and Maintenance of production systems.
6.Supervises the planning, documentation, and communication of all changes to server software and hardware minimizing customer disruption.
7.Supervises the planning and implementation of approved operating system upgrades and enhancements.
8.Responds to emergency calls relating to system performance, diagnosis of problems, repairing problems and escalating problems to the development groups.
9.Ensures data integrity and security policies are followed and interfaces with data security on a regular basis to review security reports. Recommends changes to policies and implements new security policies as needed.
10.Selects, recommends and implement improved methods and tools for the troubleshooting and researching of problems.
11.Monitors Service Request queues to ensure the timely resolution of all requests to meet predefined service levels. Work with the Corporate IS Helpdesk to ensure all scripting is accurate and up to date as required. Strong communication between Help Desk and customer is required.
12.Close working relationship with the Manager of Performance and Capacity, ensuring that systems provide correct statistics as it relates to performance and capacity.
13.Special projects as required.

-5 – 7 years experience on UNIX operating systems
-Previous experience in supervising a technical staff.
-Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
-Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks
-Exceptional troubleshooting skills
-Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
-Required to participate in an on-call rotation (includes evening, weekends, and occasional holidays).
-Pager: Yes
