🥧🍂 New Yorkers, I know Thanksgiving is just around the corner, so I’ll keep this short. Before larger-than-life balloons line our streets and we sit down with loved ones to reflect on what we’re thankful for, here’s what to know this week in New York City.

Good afternoon New Yorkers,

As I returned home from representing our city abroad, I was reminded of how our city represents greatness to the world. From historic achievements in public safety to the best food, culture, sports, entertainment, and more, the five boroughs has it all. And, once again, we can call proudly call ourselves home to National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) champions!

On Monday, our team at City Hall threw a major celebration for Gotham FC, the winners of the 2025 NWSL championship. Some people called them “underdogs” and wrote them off, but this team never stopped fighting. Congratulations to the whole team — you showed up and delivered a big win for New York, just like our city government does every day for the working people and families of our incredible city.

Here’s how we delivered for you this past week:

  • Building infrastructure more effectively – We just signed two Project Labor Agreements covering more than $7 BILLION in city capital projects. These include standardized work rules, so we get recreation centers, libraries, and more built more efficiently, and these will also provide good-paying jobs and union careers to thousands of hard-working New Yorkers!
  • Uniting against hate – Saying “never again” is never enough — we must demonstrate it through our actions too. That’s why we’re proudly investing $3 million to build the first-ever Queens Holocaust Memorial on the grounds of Queens Borough Hall. This will be a permanent space for remembrance, education, and fostering unity. As antisemitism rises across the country, we're using our office to call out hate, encourage compassion, and promote solidarity across generations.
  • Making streets even cleaner together – We're calling on YOU to join our "Trash Revolution” in a new way and get rewarded up to $2,000 for your hard work. Our Department of Sanitation is offering financial rewards to New Yorkers who help us catch illegal garbage dumpers! Their two bounty programs provide awards to tipsters who witness and report illegal dumping. It’s all part of our administration’s greater work to make our city even cleaner and send rats packing.

Before you go, did you know…

...New York City's hideous green scaffolding is about to get a makeover? We just unveiled six beautiful new designs that’ll do away with the plywood of the past! Our redesigns will continue to keep New Yorkers safe, while beautifying and brightening our streets. You can see them around as early as next year. Check them out here!

🏙️ 🏙️ 🏙️

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, New Yorkers! I hope you enjoy the day in good company as we enter another magical holiday season in the greatest city on the globe. Don’t forget to reflect on all we have to be grateful for as New Yorkers. I know I’m also going to take some time on Thursday to think about how thankful I am for this city, for the opportunity to serve as your mayor, and for the 300,000+ city employees who have worked 24/7 to deliver historic results for you during this administration.

Your mayor,

Eric
