Hah!!

Email from a NYCPA member who we helped set up their PA though their school refused to let the parents have one even after NYCPA changed the law requiring every charter in NYC to have one.

Which majority of charters are still ignoring and DoE not enforcing AND the charter center lobbied against parents in charters having PA/PTAs!

Now they're calling charter parents to try and set up puppet PA/PTAs at their schools which the school leaders will control.

The bylaws from the charter center would probably state:

1. Every parent is required to attend public hearings demanding more district school space for free

2. Every parent is to demand more district schools be closed

3. Every parent is to assist the school leaders in pushing out Special Needs and ELL students 

4. Every parent is to sign an oath that they'll never attend a board meeting

5. Every parent is to sign an oath they'll never request a copy of their charter or by-laws

6. Every parent is to sign an oath they'll never attend a NYCPA monthly meeting, contact NYCPA or join NYCPA. If they do, they'll be punished and forced to send their kids to a district school.

Good Morning Mona,   I received a phone call from Valerie Babb office yesterday in regards to if my school has a parent association.  The charter school center would like to assist charter schools in assisting them with their parent association, they would like to come out to our school and attend the parent association meeting.  Also if your school have any events they would like to attend.
