Job Title: SQL DBA

Location: Remote

Duration: 6 Months CTH

 

USC/ GC Only

 

This is primarily a Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator role largely responsible for providing operational database services to the organization. Some of the primary responsibilities for this role would include owning, tracking and resolving database related incidents, fulfilling data requests and performing maintenance on the systems. They would also review service-related reports (e.g.: database backups, maintenance, and monitoring) to ensure service related issues are identified and resolved and also respond to database related escalations. This person would also provide support for internal company projects relating to database infrastructure.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the integrity and performance of high-availability databases across multiple data centers and AWS
  • Must guarantee that data is stored securely and optimally
  • Supervise and review modifications to new and existing databases
  • Ensure all database servers are backed up to meet Clients Recovery Point Objectives (RPO)
  • Test backups to ensure Clients Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) can be met
  • Troubleshoot SQL Server service outages as they occur, including after-hours and weekends
  • Document the Clients database environment
  • Collaborate with the system administration group to ensure servers are properly patched and have sufficient disk space to grow.

 

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in information technology or computer science
  • 3 to 5 years of database management experience
  • Experience in the process of designing, implementing, and managing an Enterprise Data Warehouse initiative is required.
  • Experience with MS SQL with Always On Availability Groups
  • Experience with MongoDB EA preferred.
