Hello everyone,

Thanks for joining this group!  13 members on the first day is pretty good!

First of all, I want to make sure everyone knows about iPhoneDevCamp on April 19th. (http://barcamp.org/iPhoneDevCampNYC).  This can effectively be our April meeting.

I happen to be working on a web site on the side that would also be very useful for determine when to get together for future meetings.  It should be up soon, so we can use that when it's ready.  In the meantime if you want to propose a spontaneous hack fest, please do so.

About this mailing list:

1)  This group will be unmoderated until it becomes a problem.
2)  Job postings and recruiters are welcome, although my hope is that discussions will be mostly technical.
3)  If there is an existing iPhone NYC dev mailing list started somewhere else, I'm happy to merge.  I just haven't seen any yet.

About me:

I have been doing software development at various startups and smallish companies since 1997.  I have been doing a mixture of J2ME and Ruby on Rails development for the past four years.  I am now starting to do iPhone contracting as well.
