Social TV/Mobile Gaming Startup Seeking Android / Java Engineers

Hi All,

In anticipation of the hackathon this weekend, I thought I'd share an
opportunity that may interest this particular group.

I work for Function(x), a start-up mode, technology driven media
company which just launched our first product/company, Viggle, the
first of its kind loyalty/rewards program for watching TV. We give
people real rewards for checking into the television shows they’re
watching (as opposed to stickers and badges). Currently available for
Apple iPhone®, iPad® and iPod touch®, Viggle automatically identifies
what television shows its users are watching (by the audio that's
emitted from your TV) and awards them points when they check-in.
Viggle users can redeem their points in the app’s rewards catalogue
for items such as movie tickets, music, gift cards and much more.

We understand the Android smartphone/tablet market is huge and have
already started building Viggle for Android, but there's a lot more to
do hence why we're hiring Android / Java Engineers.

A bit more about us and the work you would be doing:

We're still fairly small; we're about 10 engineers deep right now.

We're in start-up mode (although we're fully capitalized and publicly
traded under the symbol FNCX) so you should expect to wear multiple
hats, caps, sombrero's - whatever you fancy.

We’re in the process of building a great team of technologists to
support great ideas – we’re not afraid to choose the best technology
for the job, from Java to Scala to Node.js to Rails to the iOS and
Android platforms.

We use open source (sans iOS) and want our engineers to contribute
back to the projects we use.

Our development processes are agile and transparent.

We're led by Geir Magnusson, an internationally known leader and
advocate in the open source space. He's founded several significant
open source projects such as Apache Geronimo and Apache Harmony.

Competitive pay which would include an equity stake in the already
publicly traded company; you won't have to wait around for the IPO.

Why you should consider us:

We're building new products (Viggle is our first but there are many
more to come) from the ground up.

The main conduit through which Viggle users experience Viggle is
through the mobile platform. Your work will be extremely visible.

These products will potentially be used by millions of Americans (and
beyond). Initial user adoption, retention and activity have been
incredibly good.
