Community Outreach Assistant & Instructor
Brooklyn Botanic Garden
Part-time Permanent
$26/hour; 18 hours/week, some evenings and weekend hours.

The community outreach assistant/instructor works directly with the community program- and community field managers to provide technical assistance to a wide range of community-based groups—such as community gardens and block associations—throughout Brooklyn. They develop, coordinate, and implement both large- and small-scale horticulture-related educational programs both on- and off-site, including the Brooklyn Urban Gardener training program. Brooklynites with a background in community organizing are especially encouraged to apply. A valid NYS driver’s license is required. Benefits include sick leave, CIRS Pension, 401K, and life insurance.
