Ahoy mateys,
Y'all know I love to share opportunities and fliers for fun that come across my desk. Here's
the share for this evening:
"Pratt Institute has launched a fellowship program in design and architecture thanks to the generosity of the
Diamonstein-Spielvogel Foundation, chaired by Barbaralee Diamonstein-Spielvogel. It will be awarded to two first-year graduate students, one in the School of Architecture and one in the School of Design, for their first year of graduate study at Pratt. The
fellowship will be focused on students from underserved communities whose work concentrates on issues related to climate change." "Fellows will receive tuition support totaling $48,000 in year one of graduate study."

I also want to share a gentle reminder about the Aura of Fall Fundraiser that's taking
place on Sat. 11.11 (make that wish baybee) from 4p-8p. This event is taking place in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
Aura of Fall captures plants being harvested at this time - their smells, textures, and flavors to foster plant centered
conversations while supporting local environmental organizations. Tickets include (1) drink & native fruit treat. There will be a cash bar serving natural wines, whiskey, ciders, and snacks. All proceeds go to supporting local organizations: Farm School NYC,
Newtown Creek Alliance, & Biocitizen. Additionally there will be a raffle with prizes presented from 6-7pm. Guest speakers include the Ecological Communities Organization based in Ridgewood, Queens & horticulturist Seth Bunker. There will also be a black walnut
ink painting demo for all to try!

Looking forward to making some ink on 11/11, and maybe seeing one of you at Pratt next
year. ~
(nudge, nudge have you been thinking at the back/front of your mind to go back to school,
career change, learn something new, add some new ammo to your belt? Is this that message you've been waiting for? =^)) )

Bonus and ps congrats for getting this far!: if you're feeling frisky and inclined to talk
to an actual person and not the automated teller: how was your Halloween (and/or Samhain)? did you go out, do anything, dress up, dance under the moon? My intention was to go out as Zorro, I had on everything but the cummerbund and the eye shield. Skipped
trick or treating to work in the studio instead. I had more fun people-watching and seeing how parts of the streets between Flatbush and Rogers were closed off so that children and their families could trick or treat without traffic interference.
And for my freegans/dumpster divers on this list - I hella enjoyed the candy I found just
discarded up and down on the street. Idk what these kids were doing (opening the pack, eating one and dropping the rest on the floor, I guess), but I enjoyed (and am alive to tell the tale of surviving Halloween "Gutter" Candy 2k23).
those nerds were tasty btw.
