Hello Community Composters !!!

We invite you to our final presentation of our reuse feasibility study on Wednesday, September 24th at the Urban Farm Classroom adjacent to the Soil Start Farm on Governors Island.

Under the leadership of Dr. Samantha MacBride, Earth Matter has been exploring the feasibility of reuse systems in takeout food service on Governors Island for several seasons, first with two semesters and a summer of CUNY engineering students, and most recently through a Rochester Institute of Technology New York State Pollution Prevention Institute (NYSP2I) grant.

Please join Earth Matter NY with Dr. Samantha MacBride of Baruch College's Marxe School of  International and Public Affairs and Dr. Lily Pollans of Hunter College's Urban Policy and Planning program in a discussion of systems approaches to implementing reuse in takeout food service. We will showcase our work field testing how business owners, employees, customers, visitors, and the public at large view reuse, with implications for planning and program delivery.
