-now returning after conducting extensive work at clinic
-has completed a huge amount of organizing tasks; too many to list

Ana:
-implementing lab and waste management
-training clerk in supply chain management software
-getting timing system for night duty staff to regularly check patients
-maintaining accounting
-writing narrative of the process of opening the clinic
-uploading lab and waste protocols to the wiki
-making clinic sign
-maintaining oxygen concentrator
-suction device maintenance
-implementing mSupply software
-purchasing 3 small solar-powered calculators for lab and administrative offices
-getting petty cash box with lock
-from the mSupply database and following discussion with dr. bishnu
about the prices, print out a price listing of all the medicines
Bishnu:
-getting VCT established
-getting PMTCT established
-inviting CDO, DSP, and DHO to opening of the clinic (Rajan arranging
for ribbon cutting etc.)
-determining plan for getting modular DOTS training
-hiring staff
-working with chettri and ana to set up all the medicines and list
them appropriately in mSupply software.
-setting up delivery suite with the ANMs (room for ~3 beds)
-setting up pharmacy with ana, pharmacist and clerk
-setting up procedure/infusion room.
-cutting green cloth into appropriate sizes for minor sterile procedures
-setting up equipment sets for different procedures.
-figuring out how to get ARV program going.
-continuing to recruit doctors, talk with friends, to get temporary
and long-term replacement.
-staying in touch with Niroj banepali about doing medical tasks in
KTM. also amit pradhanang
-calling dr. Subhas Sitaula to discuss with him long-term posting.
Manindra:
-finding out from NTC about booster/repeater
-TT another 350K to RABA
-working with Dr. Marasini at MoH
-creating the NGO; coordinating with bibhav
-involving brothers more
-getting Nepalwireless to come to Achham to do site survey for
intradistrict Wi-Fi.
-keeping mero mobile and cdma phone; can use for nyaya business
-having brothers help shaan with getting into town
-returning BGAN terminal
-coordinating with Duncan on the embassies
Shaan:
-developing electronic database
-assisting Bishnu with whatever VCT/PMTCT needs
-seting up CBC autoanalyzer; assisting Ana with whatever other lab
improvements needed
-assessing and improve clinical records system
-traveling one day to surrounding VDC to do outreach with an HA or ANM
-taking pictures of functioning clinic to bring back to states
-bringing computers if available
-getting extra dell power supply
Bibhav:
-Shaan and bibhav picked up QBC Autoread from QBC's manufacturing
plant in Philipsburg. Both received training on operating the
hematology centrifuge system. The folks were very nice and supportive
(they came in to work on a saturday morning just to train us). We now
have a centrifuge, the autoread, a bubble jet b/w printer, 100 lancet
blades, many many capillary tubes, a pipette for venous blood
transfer and a qbc workstation. everything works in 220/240 V.
Donation is worth about $10,000. Many thanks to Dr. Levine (inventor
of autoread) and QBC Diagnostics.
-talking to Errol Norwitz (OB/GYN at yale new haven hosp) about how to
get dept help for nyaya
-corresponding with David Moore (yale-new haven hosp) about getting
ultrasound from GE
Chris:
-represented equityedit at the gk3 conference in malaysia

Sanjay:
-Current grants pending receipt: CDC (looking very good), Yale
(receiving now), Notsew Orm Sands (+/-), James S. McDonnell (+), Oak
Foundation (-), Child Health (waiting until april), Friends of Nepal
(? bibhav), MAC AIDS (waiting until PMTCT), public welfare (-), help
nepal (?bibhav)
-Will start tax forms in January; please update cash flow sheet
(google doc) with your expenditures as soon as possible
-Pursuing cancer centers to see if pathologists can volunteer to read
Paps, and same with radiologists reading x-rays. The latter is going
very well, we have at least one radiologist for sure who is committed
and reads every day as long as receiving the x-rays electronically
someone (he is US-based); but the pathologists are harder - if you
know of cancer docs, please send sanjay their contact info.
-Talking with Cameron to update the AMD OpenArchitecture contest's
website (for the architects who will build our telemedicine center,
paid by AMD). Duncan drew up several specifics related to the building
site, which should be posted soon.
-Have to discuss with Bibhav about procuring ultrasound from GE. If
anyone knows GE employees, please contact us.
Finally, here is the current tentative schedule of visitors to the clinic:
