Summer Internships

Clinic Scheduling:
-March 6 (auspicious day of maha shivaratri) is set as the new opening date
-On-site leadership at that time: Ana, Tenzing, hopefully Dr. Bishnu and Dr. Bijay.
-likely need to hire a new doctor prior to starting unless Dr. Bishnu is able to fix his scheduling.-tenzing, ana, and bishnu through august +/-
-astha likely to start in september, hoping to be there for a year
-gaurav likely to start around may, will do a trial period then consider a 1-2 year posting
-AMD/OA design team starting in april
-bibhav june 15 for ten weeks
-jason likely to be out there early june
-several summer volunteers are currently pursuing applications; supply likely to outstrip demand
-dr. bishnu and dr. niroj pursuing several options for long-term posting for docs
Health finance team:

feb. 29: final design submissions
march 25: our design team selected
april: selection of the grand winner (Kenya, Peru, or us, Nepal) of the guaranteed 250K award from AMD. To make sure we are competitive, we need to keep the design teams updated and to continue to revise our ICT strategy with new ideas.
Procurement:
-shaan delivered the QBC machine, digital camera, computer
-shaan has obtained a digital microscope; will try to get deliver it with dr. bijay in mid-february
-several positive leads on the ultrasound machine. bibhav
coordinating with drs moore and ergoal is to deliver with dr. bijay in
mid-february. see US proposal in folder share under grants.
-X-Ray: Dr. Mingma may have a 300 mA machine for us, duncan and
shaan putting together formal proposal; akash is looking into this for a 100mA with
GE.
-EKG: any help here?
-have set up mSupply and moneyworks software for accounting purposes
Laboratory and Waste Management
-Ana managing this
-lab tables, microscope, QBC machine, water filter, water deionizer set up
-lab tech to be hired soon
-incinerator, burial done.
Connectivity
-CDMA has not been reliable.
-we will go with VSAT via STM, this will be ready by March. 128kbps.
-BGAN was returned and refunded.
-Nepal Telecom lobbying-- manindra is trying to improve CDMA and landline connectivity issues.
Nyaya Health-Nepal
-this is the sister NGO that we are creating to implement projects
-dr. bijay, dr. bishnu, ana coordinating from nepal.
