Chris:

represent EquityEdit in the "Young Social Entrepreneurs Forum"
-met and "networked" with a bunch of cool people with
socially-oriented businesses, for instance Santhosh from Profits for
People: http://www.profitsforpeople.org/ and Packiaraj from Smile
Charitable Trust:
http://www.globalknowledge.org/ysef07/applicationform/registration_form.cfm?action=judgeViewAll®id=115&projectid=1
-participated in the IdeaFactory to help produce 20 ideas to make
a world of entrepreneurs by 2020
-most of the GK3 conference was focused on business and new technologies
-although i did get to attend a session on the use of ICTs
(integrated communication technologies) in healthcare that was
interesting
-check out the forum website:
http://www.globalknowledge.org/ysef07/index.cfm?&menuid=6 or
email me, if you'd like more information about what it was like
-I'm working on managing the Nyaya Health (and EquityEdit) google
Adwords advertising campaign that is funded by a google grant. It is
designed to draw more people to our websites and give them more
information about what we're doing, and hopefully to draw donations
from more people.
-we were initially having problems spending all the thousands of
dollars we are allocated each month on the grant because of some
restrictions on the kinds of ads we can display and the amount we can
bid for placing our ad next to each keyword that is searched for
-but with the addition of a huge amount of new keywords we are
making a little bit better use of the campaign, getting close to
spending 40 dollars of the grant money per day on some days after the
most recent keyword additions
-you can see this in action by searching for something like "nepal
health" or "child malnutrition" on google and watching us come up on
the right of the page
-let me know if you can think of funky keywords we might not have
thought of that are related to us (even tangentially) that people
might search for
-andrew and i are emailing people at the yale daily news to get an
article about nyaya and the opening of the clinic
-i finally posted my pictures from summer 2007 on picasa, which is the
linked to in the sidebar of the wiki. i'm still working on captions
and tags though.
-I'm also starting to work on building our knowledge base about
alternative energy sources, mostly solar power. More on this in the
coming weeks...

-Pursuing cancer centers to see if pathologists can volunteer to read
Paps, and same with radiologists reading x-rays. The latter is going
very well, we have at least one radiologist for sure who is committed
and reads every day as long as receiving the x-rays electronically
someone (he is US-based); but the pathologists are harder - if you
know of cancer docs, please send sanjay their contact info.
