While running around keep the left trigger depressed, if you see an enemy with a funky green halo around them (alien) or squared off targeting icon around them (predator) tap your right bumper, you will leap at your target and usually stun them. Follow up with another attack or two and there ya go, easy kill.
Marines are also easy to WTFpwn with, just keep turning around and watch your motion tracker. As long as you keep enemies at a fair distance the standard pulse rifle is the best weapon IMO second only to the smart gun (up on a balcony in a very large open room) again keep moving and turning around.
All this being said, kicking ass at the game hasn't endeared it to me. Just cause I'm fairly good at it hasn't made me love it. It had a lot of potential as far as an avp game goes, just falls short as far as shooters go IMO.
You hold Y to heal as a predator . . . same goes for Human. And always sprinting with a Predator is not a good idea in my opinion. You are easier to spot since your Cloaking devicees glitches out while running. I recommend being conserative with the Predator. Running around will jsut get you killed.
Well .... I'm playing on a 52 inch LCD. And I sit like 3 feet from the screen. May not be true for everyone but I've caught a few predator players afk and cloaked, spotted them at a stupid long distance. It's not a very effective cloak IMO.
Can anyone explain blocking to me? I'm an alien, fighting it out with another alien, and when I block one attack seems to be stopped but then they have 100 percent of the time, hit me again and down like 3 times the damage an unblocked attack does
By far my least favorite class to play as is the Alien, followed by the Marine. The Marine has some nice weapons to utilize which makes them actually fun at times, but are so damn fragile it's disgusting. Also the flash that occurs on the default weapon is so damn large and bright that it renders me damn near blind and impossible to follow someone at anything but close to mid range.
The Alien just makes me want to vomit every time I use it. It makes me dizzy as hell trying to navigate, and unless you go on the ceiling you're just an easy target. Plus the lack of any actual variation in attacks bores the piss outta me.
Alien - Use the ceiling and get used to it. Dashing past someone overhead and then dropping behind them for a quick stealth kill or even a melee fest. Remember to use block (Rb+Lb together). When fighting marines wait for your prey as believe it or not you are the most disguised in the shadows.
When fighting predators always go for a stealth kill if you can't use the heavy attack and than a light attack than heavy than light etc until his dead. Also unless you are very adept at the control do not go to the lower parts of the map with the rooms.
As the Predator always remember to cloak. After everything you do cloak. Than get weapons. My best route is to get the smart disc and than go where the smart gun is. Look above and hop on the beams. Up here you will find proximity mines. You get 4-5 I think well anyway lay these badboys all around below where you pick them up (watch out for aliens on the ceiling) and you should get a few good kills. Once I got 3 for one. Whilst up there wait and watch for Aliens and marines, try not to stealth kill in this room as it will probably give you away.
Hunt out your prey from above using the smart disc and watch before any marine that goes for the smart gun. Also constantly switch views. If you are feeling skilled there is the combi stick which can land you awesome sniper like kills.
As the Marine your best friend is small spaces. Always check your back and if you hear fighting or Aliens turn your light off (B button). The light attracts enemies and highlights your position. Lure them with your light and than watch your back and areas.
The best place for the marines is the rooms below. The advantage of the rooms is that predators cannot jump behind you and it fucks up their smart disks. The Aliens on the ceiling also get confused due to the camera rapidly changing. Therefore they will approach from the ground. Watch your back as there are two ways in each room. The rooms contain ammo and med kits too. After every encounter try and heal up by holding Y. Shotgun is your best friend when you know something is around.
Should you be melee'd or stunned retaliate with a Rb melee and than shoot. Two piecing essentially. If you are feeling brave grab the smart gun. When you have it walk forward from where you got it and drop into the rooms below. This will hurt you but now you have the smart gun and excellent cover.
