I tested adding a small, battery-operated Bluetooth shower speaker behind the door that houses the gas fireplace controls, paired it to my smartphone and then played a fireplace sounds video on Youtube. It worked and sounded great, but that's way too much hassle to have to pair a phone, stream audio and recharge a portable speaker.
For use with Touchstone Electric Fireplaces or any electric fireplace, this portable speaker emits pop and crackle sounds that emulate a real fire. This fire crackle speaker uses 3 AAA batteries and has a magnetized back so you can attach the unit to the steel portion of your fireplace. It has three volume levels that measure approximately 50, 60, and 70 decibels from one foot away.
