As you know Brooke Malloy is no longer our Coordinator. We wish her luck in her new position at VCS!
We are delighted to announce that previous member-Abigail Anderson will be joining the team at Nyack Center as our new Coordinator!
Please join us at our upcoming meeting on November 26th at 9:15.
For those of you who haven’t had the pleasure of meeting Abigail here is her bio.
Abigail Anderson, LMSW is a licensed social worker and health educator who has designed and presented hundreds of educational workshops and professional trainings on topics such as healthy relationships, decision-making, puberty, parent-child communication, human sexuality, abstinence, sexually transmitted infections, contraception, HIV/AIDS and more for schools and community organizations. Ms. Anderson, who is highly trained in youth development, coordinated Planned Parenthood’s Teen Information and Peer Services program (TIPS) for five years. She recruited, trained, and mentored dozens of teens to become peer educators, advocates, and to act as resources for other teens.
Ms. Anderson received her Masters of Social Work degree from Fordham University, holds a Bachelor’s degree in English from Barnard College, earned the NYU Silver School of Social Work post-masters certificate in Clinical Work with Adolescents, and earned her Sexuality Education Certificate from Planned Parenthood University. In addition, she has completed the New York State Advancing Youth Development community training for youth workers and trained as a counselor at VCS, Inc. in New City, NY.
Prior to receiving her social work degree, Ms. Anderson worked in publishing and new media, and was a producer for HistoryChannel.com, AandE.com, Biography.com, Esquire.com, HarpersBazaar.com, and more.
