The Rockland Alliance for Health is partnering with VCS, Inc. to offer
financial support to individuals from the health field (or who are otherwise
undertaking efforts in the community to promote health and
wellness) who wish to participate in the 2 1/2 -day training titled “Undoing
Racism Workshop” for the first time.

The Rockland Alliance for Health is a not-for-profit organization in
Rockland County dedicated to its mission of improving the health and
wellness of Rockland County residents. In order to achieve this, it is
important to actively address racial and cultural inequities in health
systems and the resulting disparities in health outcomes for our local
residents. This training, provided by the People’s Institute for Survival
and Beyond (www.pisab.org) is widely recognized as one of the foremost
trainings for understanding systemic and institutional racism.

To be eligible for a partial scholarship, you must (1) be working and/or
volunteering in a health-related program, organization, or community-based
initiative, (2) live and/or work in Rockland County and
(3) be able to attend the entire training. This year, the training will
take place on November 8-10, at Rockland Community College.
