Hello everyone,

Please join us this Thursday for a salon on repression where I’ll be sharing some of the creative and innovative tactics that we’ve used to survive the brutal crackdowns under the military regime along with current conditions and political situations in Burma. The event is co-hosted by Waging Nonviolence (http://wagingnonviolence.org) and the Yes Lab (http://yeslab.org) at NYU.

Date: Thursday, April 18th
Time: 7 p.m.
Location: Performance Studies Dept. Studio (721 Broadway, 6th floor, New York University, New York, NY 10003)

Thanks,
~Tim

Please join us on April 18 starting at 7 p.m. for a salon on repression, both real and virtual, that we are hosting at NYU as part of a speaking series called Creative Activism Thursdays with our friends at the Yes Lab. We'll be hearing from Bahraini journalist Nada Alwadi, who was jailed for reporting on the pro-democracy protests in 2011; Burmese activist Tim Aye-Hardy, who helped spark the nationwide uprising in 1988 and recently returned from his first trip home in more than two decades; and Salon editor Natasha Lennard, who has covered law enforcement repression of U.S. activist groups. Space is limited, so RSVP today!
